Hear God say, ‘Lift up your eyes! Listen for the sound! My Spirit is moving.’

Your hunger for God will be the landing strip of the Holy Spirit. See with the eye of faith, a visitation of the Holy Spirit, as He comes to your ‘waiting room’.

One year ago, I wrote a prophetic word for 2018, ‘The Spirit is Coming to Your Waiting Room’. [1] And as I write this week,  I believe the Holy Spirit is stirring me to revisit this prophetic word.

There are times when we are waiting for God—waiting for Him to move or to answer prayer.

But there are also times when He is waiting for us. And I believe right now is one of those times.

The Holy Spirit is keeping an appointment with you.

He is Coming to the Waiting Ones

‘And coming in that instant she [Anna] gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem.’ (Luke 2:38, NKJV)

A prophetess called Anna prayed and fasted in the temple for decades, waiting for the coming of the Messiah.

One day, in the very place she had waited for the Messiah, the Messiah was waiting for her. (Luke 2:36-38)

You Find Yourself in a Place of Worship

“We have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.” (Matt 2:2b, NKJV)

We are in the season of Christmas Advent. The word ‘advent’ means coming, appearance, emergence. [2]

It speaks of anticipation, preparation and seeking.

It speaks of wonder.

And worship.

Suddenly, you stop and catch your breath. You realize your Saviour is here—right here, in this moment.

God is at Work in Your Life and Family

If you have felt as though you’ve been in an extended season of battle, dryness or limitation, hear Heaven declare over you,

‘This is your time for favor!’ ‘This is your time to encounter God!’

He is interrupting cycles of pain. He is healing the residue of trauma. He is restoring joy.

God is at work in your family, your workplace, your church and ministry.

Your Divine appointment is here, and the Holy Spirit is already in your waiting room.

Selah: pause and think quietly about that.

2 Things You May Not Know About Me

1. Enliven Blog is a gift from God and also our gift to you

28 years ago, my husband Malcolm and I stood in a meeting at a missions camp in Tauranga, New Zealand, and gave our lives and our family to Jesus.

We said, ‘Lord we surrender our lives to You for Your work in the nations. We will go wherever You send us’.

We never dreamed that following the call of God would lead to Australia, or the online ministry we have today.

Most people don’t realize this, but every time someone visits Enliven Blog or receives an email from us, it costs a small amount of money.

And up until now, my husband Malcolm and I have been underwriting many of these blog expenses personally. Recently I have been praying about this. “Father, why are other costs being miraculously provided for, but not these ones?”

It was like a little ‘flag’ the Holy Spirit was bringing to my attention.

I believe the answer is simply that it’s our Father’s time for us to share this opportunity with you.

Which is why this month, we invite you to prayerfully consider partnering with Enliven Ministries—which you can do here.

2. Most of what you see I’ve done from start to finish

During the past two years since we launched Enliven Ministries, I have been managing much of the ministry solo, which means:

  • I not only write the blog articles, but also do the editing and publishing, prepare the emails and manage most of the web mastering
  • I not only prepare the content for the videos, but also record, video edit and upload them personally
  • I write, produce and publish my own eBooks

That’s a lot of different computer software and online platforms! Yep, I know that I’m a little crazy. And also that I have an extraordinary God (and patient husband).

In fact, it’s amazing that we’ve been able to achieve so much with so little!

And it’s been such a joy to give and provide my most valuable teaching for no cost on Enliven Blog, and our other resources for low cost.

But the honest truth is that I have reached capacity. At times it saddens me that I have become unable (physically) to reply to all the emails and requests. [3, 4] I do still try and answer most blog comments.

Yet I dream of being able to help people even more.

However, reaching the end of my own capacity is also good news (another ‘flag’ from the Holy Spirit), because it’s time for me to have some more assistance, and we’re going to start figuring out what that looks like.

How you can help.

Pray for us, especially for wisdom as we make decisions to provide me with more practical support and enable us to help more people.

If you’ve been helped by Enliven Blog, consider partnering with us through a single donation or a monthly gift here.

Purchasing an online course is a great way to help us fund the ministry whilst receiving teaching to equip you in your gift. (or consider gifting one to a friend as a Christmas gift). The courses page is here.

Notes:

[1] You can find the full message, ‘The Spirit is Coming to Your Waiting Room’ here. This word has touched us personally this year, and I’ve been sharing my story on the ‘School of Intimacy and Prayer’.

[2] I googled ‘meaning of advent’. Interestingly, ‘Advent’ is from a Latin word that means ‘coming

[3] I am grateful for the help and support I do receive from team members and thank them here.

  1. Praise the Lord Helen.
I am gonna partner with you and I will do it as much as the Lord God leads me.

I love partnering with the Holy Spirit and I honor the anointing upon your life.

    I am humbled.

  2. Hello Helen,
I believe absolutely that all parts of the body of Christ on earth are meant to function, and I believe absolutely that God is in charge and knows exactly what we are to do, where we are to go and who we are to be in contact with. Years ago, after I was baptized in water in Adelaide Australia I came up out of the water speaking in a language I had never learned. To cut a long story short – poems and songs started just dropping into my head, my friend and myself were sent out into the street with leaflets we put together with the poems (some that she was given as well) and scripture. I bought my son’s guitar off him and the Lord just brought the right cords for the songs He had given me. The Lord also took us to a lifer’s wing in a prison . In one of the poems He gave me the last few lines said ‘And when you’ve learned Your Father’s ways each day to you revealed, then you too will show the world just how my love is sealed.’ I would never have known how to set up a blog post, the Lord brought it about, as every day in our lives is written in His book before even one of them is formed.
One scripture that comes into my mind is ‘First seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and everything else will be added’. I know that everything needed to set up my blog and everything else was provided by the Lord, and I believe that whatever the Lord calls you to do will be achieved if you just trust in Him.
    God bless.

  3. Hi Helen,
Thank you for being obedient to God and being set apart for this very purpose, truly we are unique for whatever the father designed for each one of us no one can do it. This is so powerful. I believe what the spirit of God is saying to you and what God is about to do greater things to us through you.
Thank you for your faith and passion for others and your prayers that has coursed me to be part of this great move of God. Always on time and lines up especially for me.
Since i met your teaching, i never remain the same. I’m stronger now than when i was, even thought i walk through the valley, your teaching has given me courage to move on even though it doesn’t look like its working.
When God called me, i was impatient trying to use effort, but the Holy Spirit told me “Wait, i will tell you” another day He told me ” You’re in the waiting room”. You’re a true prophet from God Helen, ordained by Him.
Please, continue to pray for me that i may fully understand the prophecy of God and His calling in me may become true for the glory of his name. Pray for me especially how to grow in my spiritual gifts and also how to have life changing encounters with God and his word. Please pray for me for a financial support.
May you and your family have a Merry Christmas, God richly bless you.
    Thank you!

Dear Sister Helen – thank you for your inspiriting word. I retired last year and this is my first term attending Pittsburgh Theological Seminary at age 66. It was required that I make a 3.5 GPA to maintain the scholarships awarded to me as part of the Masters of Art in Pastoral Care program but I missed the mark this term. I received a B and the rest C’s. I praise the Lord anyway because I know I could not have gotten this far without Him and those angels like yourself who He placed in my life to help assist me during my studies were invaluable. I praise God for giving me a window of opportunity to experience seminary.

My husband Arthur is retiring next week and he wants me to spend quality time with him. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2015 and even though his prostate was removed, his PSA count has been climbing. He received hormone treatments in 2015 but did not like the way they made him feel. So he stopped the treatment. The doctors are not sure where the cancer cells are but they want him to continue hormone treatments. My prayer is that God annihilate the cancer cells and that my husband will not need any further treatment.

However, I enrolled in the Spring term with four more classes and there may be a possibility to try to achieve a 3.5 GPA for the remainder of the school year (which is already quite rigorous, daunting and time consuming) but I have been praying to God to confirm whether I should continue to pursue school or spend quality time with my husband, now that he is retiring.

Please pray on our behalf that I make the Godly decision – that He gives me clarity and that I am at peace with my decision. I need a definitive word from on high
