A few days ago, I was standing in a long queue at an airport in New Zealand.
My passport was rejected by the computer system, the Australian border was closed, and I didn’t know whether I was going to get back home to my family or not—except, for trusting in God.
- That the miracle He had started, he would complete
My iPad had some battery charge left, so I opened my Strong’s concordance App. When you hold your finger down on the word, a pop-up box appears, that gives insights into the meaning of the Hebrew word.
There I was, looking at Psalm 91, standing in a check-in queue, utterly exhausted.
“He who dwells in the shelter of the most high shall abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” (Ps 91:1)
I selected the word “dwells”.
What immediately struck me, is that it also means to sit down. To be seated.
The image I had in that moment, was of sitting in a strong, rocky place, under a ledge.
In a storm, with a battle all around.
I was aware of vibrant green moss, that clung to the rock around me.
You Have a Hiding Place
In that moment at the airport, that single word, “dwells” , or “sits” confounded me, because of its simplicity.
You may be in this very situation right now.
It may be a time when you’ve got nothing left, and it feels like there’s nothing you can do.
You’ve run out, and all you can do is trust.
Everything may be roaring around you, and the enemy may be coming at you full force.
But there is a hiding place.
A Message: You Will Flourish in the Trial
“I was aware of vibrant green moss, that clung to the rock around me.”
I didn’t pay attention to the detail of the moss, until I began to write this post—and I believe this is a word for someone reading this:
“Beloved, see how the moss flourishes, as it clings to the rock it grows from.
I am with you, and my mercy is abundant towards you.
In the hard place; in the time of trouble, this is your time to shine and grow richly.
Simply by clinging to me, by leaning upon Me, your life is a testimony to many.
And those who have said, “It is impossible to flourish under such circumstances” will be amazed by you.
Know that in Me, you are unshakeable”, says the Lord.
Watch as God Moves on Your Behalf
Your Father wants you to know that you may have run out of answers, but He is never out of options.
He says, “Beloved, sit. Dwell.”
What does this mean? He is talking about having an attitude of trust. Of dependency. Hear God say,
“While you are waiting, I am working.
While you are trusting, I am moving.”
“This is your gift from Me.
Child, be seated, and watch as I move on your behalf.”
Hi from Isolation in Australia :-)
P.S. Yes, I did make it home and am currently on day 4 of a 14 day self-isolation period, in Melbourne, Australia.
Right now, I’m praying for you, wherever you are in the world; receive courage and peace, my friend.
You are not alone.

Declaration from Psalm 91
(Based on Psalm 91:1-6, 9-16, NKJV)
“I dwell in the secret place of the Most High and I abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I trust!”
Surely He is delivering me from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence.
He covers me with His feathers and under His wings I take refuge.
His truth is my shield and buckler.
I am not afraid of the terror by night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor the destruction that lays waste at noon day.
Because I have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, my dwelling place, no evil shall befall me, nor shall any plague come near my dwelling!
For He gives His angels charge over me, to keep me in all my ways. In their hands they bear me up, lest I dash my foot against a stone.
I tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent (every demonic power [2] ), I trample underfoot.
Because I have set my love upon God, He delivers me. He sets me on high, because I have known His name.
I call upon God, and He answers me; He is with me in trouble; He delivers me and honors me.
With long life, He satisfies me, and shows me His salvation.”

The parking garage of my hospital had been shut down and tents have been erected to take on more covid patients. The Lord brought that dream back to me the day after I was complaining to him how none of the dreams make sense, nothing comes to pass,,,the next day he had me park on the roof and as the sun rose and I was worshiping before work, boom, God brought it back to me, there was the dream, the entire dream as clear as day. The parking structure was my hospital parking structure that had been shut down 3 weeks ago to be turned into patient care areas. This is a continuation of my last comment. God Bless You for teaching these important msgs and sharing your insisted,,,Psalm 91 is my daily scripture and it gives me comfort in this trial. A Bible teacher(only one who believed me way back in the beginning when I was in the wilderness)gave me that scripture as she explained to me about the spiritual attack that came upon me after interrupting a suicide,,,it can after me. God placed his protection on my list for so it couldn’t touch me then. Praise God!!!
Your prayers are powerful Kathleen! He entrusts us with mysteries and insights so that we can be prepared and pray. Very significant. Keep in declaring His Word! Am praying for you right now. May you continue to have his supernatural, angelic protection.
Hi Helen. Thank you for a powerful encouragement . I sit at home during a lengthy six months lockdown. I have eye complications but is not able to see a specialist in the City. Please pray with me so that I do not fear blindness because God say HE HAS NOT GIVEN US THE SPIRIT OF FEAR.
Dear Helen
Thank you for sharing this Word. It resonates so much with where I am at – a place where God has led me to sit down and wait. I am in a spiritual quarantine more than I am in a physical one – it’s a season of that one on one with God alone as I wait for the propelling forward. Isaiah 53 verse 7, John 1 verse 29 and Romans 3 verse 23 have had a renewed effect on my revelation of God and what He is about. Simple in His works and majestic in His results!!! God Bless you as you do His work.
Hi Ruth, thank you, and I’ve been feeling that myself – may you have the fullness of the revelation of Him you hunger for, beyond all expectations <3
Hi i am from a Christian family and i recently experienced a very close family member being possessed she is 17 years of age and strictly sheltered i notice she was more reserved than before she started holding the phone up to her ear (not talking but trying to listen to something) and she just looked very odd doing so…my mother her aunt asked her about it and she just said im listening to my friend she then began to tell my mom about crystal rocks and reincarnation that was a red flag for my mom and she told her to leave that stuff alone you don’t know what you are tapping into she was very upset that my mom was against it and she started using head phones instead. So the 17 year old family member of mine mother (my aunt) was very blind to the situation my aunt is a very strong woman so i thought it was kinda odd that she would let her daughter play with crystals and have headphones in her ears all day. My aunt gave the family a call on day and said you guys have to come over something is wrong we came over she said she was lying on the couch with her daughter and she tried to touch her and she crawled away from her backwards and started talking in a different language….my aunt was in denial before this happened my aunt keept saying oh she is just a teenager you know how thay are and i couldn’t understand it at the time i know now that she just didn’t want to believe her daughter was doing witchcraft in her Christian household…..after that she got rid of all of her electronics any thing that seemed dark and now she want’s family around all the time because her daughter is pritty much cut off from the world she feels like she failed as a mother i wanted to help but only from a distance i don’t want to be touched or looked at by her because i don’t want Sprites jumping off on me so my question to you is do i just not talk to her at all or just suck it up and help my family?
Thank you for this word. Psalm 91 is significant to me for so many reasons. But this share on dwell is incredible. My husband past away 6 months ago, I have 5 children, three that I still teach at home and all 10 eyes are on me to find us a home to live in. (We’re in temporary housing until i can find a place)
I’m waiting on the Lord and at times wonder if He had forgotten us. I KNOW He hasn’t. I know that, I preach it to others. Yet, I struggled to shake the feeling.
Just your phrase He’s working while you’re waiting was enough for me to cling to.
Anyway, just wanted to say thank you. Two years after you wrote this, it is still ministering to His saints.
Incidentally- I found this because a friend shared about the orphan mentality you wrote on. Also an excellent and powerful word.
May He bless you and all you do.
Hi Jen, thank you for leaving the lovely message. I’m sorry to hear of the loss of your husband and your challenging situation. I pray with you for the home God has appointed for you to be revealed and released, in Jesus’ Name
Thank you dear sister.
