How your prophetic word is fulfilledHas it ever felt as though you have been waiting a long time for prophetic words, dreams, and promises from God to be fulfilled?

I can identify with that!
My husband Malcolm and I have records of personal prophecies going back 30 years. We have promises from God that we’ve been holding on to for more than 40 years!

And while we have seen the extraordinary fulfillment of many prophetic words, there are still some that have not taken place.

  • At times, it has felt like the opposite of what was prophesied has been happening
  • There have also been times, when opportunities we thought were the beginning of a prophecy coming to pass, were lost

And yet right now, in spite of what seems to be a long delay, it feels as though we are on the brink of a powerful move of God.

Perhaps it seems for you, too, that it has taken a long time for some prophetic words to be realized. Yet, like us, something in your heart sings, “Now, Lord!”

Today, I pray that your heart is lifted in anticipation. Not for a change—though a change will come. Not for a breakthrough—though one be imminent. But the anticipation of a visitation from God.
A touch from Heaven.

How Your Prophetic Word is Fulfilled

The Holy Spirit Overshadows You

“You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!”? (Luke 1:31-33, NLT)

I love the story of how Mary of Nazareth receives a prophetic word through the angel Gabriel, that she is to conceive and give birth to the Messiah, Jesus.

In order for that promise to be fulfilled, the Presence of the Holy Spirit first comes upon Mary.
The power of God overshadows her. (Luke 1:35)

As you enter a new year—you may sense this is God’s due season for prophecies to be fulfilled.

This is the insight that I believe comes from the heart of God for you: “Seek My Presence as well as My Promise.”

He is calling you into the place of encounter with Him, where you will receive a fresh anointing. [1]

Your Father Speaks Over You

“And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”

When you encounter God’s Presence, you receive His love and affirmation. (Luke 1:28, NKJV)

Today, hear the Father speaking over you. “Beloved, you are blessed! You are highly favored!”

Breathe. And believe.
You are every bit as prized, loved, and valued as God says you are.

Mary’s response to the angel Gabriel gives us an example to reflect upon, as we listen to God for our own Heavenly instructions.

Her answer to God was one of humble and willing acceptance:
“Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” (Luke 1:38, NKJV)

These 2 Things Can’t Hold You Back!

1. Having Questions

Mary responded to the angel, “How can this be?” (Luke 1:34), and received an explanation.

Asking God questions is not necessarily a sign of doubt. Doubt and unbelief are usually seen in negative statements of “fact” or “forecast” (e.g. John 11:16).

  • Asking questions is a sign of relationship

Your Father loves to answer you. In your conversation with Him, you gain clarity, as He shares more of His heart with you.

2. Weakness

Paul wrote,
“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Cor 12:9, NKJV)

The “overshadowing of the Holy Spirit” is available to each one of us, through God’s grace in Christ.

A battle with weakness does not stop us from receiving God’s power (unless we are hiding it, or trying to compensate for it).

  • Our admission of weakness is a key to being empowered

If you have held back because of personal struggles, know that the Lord is calling you into the light, and back to the place of intimacy with Him!

Don’t allow a lie that says you are unworthy, to hold you back.
Hear your Father say, “Seek My Presence and you will see My Promise.”

Your Anointing is in the Secret Place

“And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you…”
(Luke 1:34-35, NKJV)

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

Many times, we are seeking the answer of our prophetic word, when God wants us to seek the anointing for that prophetic word.

It’s time to delight in His Presence.
And when God’s timing and His anointing intersect, you will see Divine acceleration take place.

  • You will rejoice as your prophetic word comes to pass.

And yes, it may be in a different way, at a different time, to what you expected. But your Father has not forgotten and He is faithful.
God is coming through for you.

How long have you been waiting for a prophetic word to be fulfilled?
I’d love to hear from you. Leave a comment in the comments box to share with us.

  1. Thank you Helen for this powerful teaching.
It is true that I have waited for God’s promise to be fulfilled in my life for quite some time now, but I still trust that God will fulfill each one of them; His own way and at His own best time, as long as I can satisfy all the conditions for the promises. I will not lose heart, and I’m encouraged in that when God speaks about it now, it means it’s about to manifest in the physical that which God releases as fulfillment of His promises to me. I thank Him and rejoice as I wait for His word to come to pass.

    1. I love that, Bonnie and say “amen” with you to the work of God in your life.
I love it that the only condition is simply to keep in step with Him and in that trust of walking in our Father’s shadow, He takes us through all the times (Ps 23) and gives us everything we need – that includes everything we need for the prophetic word to be fulfilled. He is so good!

  2. I have been waiting for prophetic dreams for more than 5 years, a time I feel like giving up, but I am strong in the Lord.

  3. Thank you for this powerful prophecy. I speak the blessings of the Lord overtakes you in 2020. And this new year be a wow season for you. God is about to blow your mind!

    1. Amen and you too Annette!
That’s funny, I just sent my husband a “mind-blown” emoji yesterday because of the extraordinary ways Holy Spirit is moving. This is definitely a season of wow 🙂

I loved how you said about seeking the anointing about a prophetic word makes sense….last night he said through me I’m ready to soar I’m ready to fly and I was looking today for something in the Bible that hit my spirit and I couldn’t find anything I just felt in my spirit I’m ready to soar I’m ready to fly …and he has been showing me snow i felt so clean when he was showing me snow and ppl playing in it and snow clothes and I just felt make me white as snow I tryed to look up snow in the Bible but I couldn’t find anything that hit me other then that I just felt cleansed in that vision .thank you that word helped alot

    1. That’s very special Veronica, “white as snow” is a reference to the righteousness we have in christ, as He’s washed our sins away! (Isaiah 1:8)
