Prophetic Word: How Your Promise is Fulfilled ~ Mary’s Story

How your prophetic word is fulfilledHas it ever felt as though you have been waiting a long time for your prophetic word, dreams, or promise from God to be fulfilled?

I can identify with that!
My husband Malcolm and I have records of personal prophecies going back 30 years. We have promises from God that we’ve been holding on to for more than 40 years!

And while we have seen the extraordinary fulfillment of many prophetic words, there are still some that have not taken place.

  • At times, it has felt like the opposite of what was prophesied has been happening
  • There have also been times, when opportunities we thought were the beginning of a prophecy coming to pass, were lost

And yet right now, in spite of what seems to be a long delay, it feels as though we are on the brink of a powerful move of God.

Perhaps it seems for you, too, that it has taken a long time for some prophetic words to be realized. Yet, like us, something in your heart sings, “Now, Lord!”

Today, I pray that your heart is lifted in anticipation. Not for a change—though a change will come. Not for a breakthrough—though one is imminent. But the anticipation of a visitation from God.
A touch from Heaven.

How Your Prophetic Word is Fulfilled

The Holy Spirit Overshadows You

“You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!” (Luke 1:31-33, NLT)

I love the story of how Mary of Nazareth receives a prophetic word through the angel Gabriel, that she is to conceive and give birth to the Messiah, Jesus.

In order for that promise to be fulfilled, the Presence of the Holy Spirit first comes upon Mary.
The power of God overshadows her. (Luke 1:35)

As you enter a new year—you may sense this is God’s due season for prophecies to be fulfilled.

This is the insight that I believe comes from the heart of God for you: “Seek My Presence as well as My Promise.”

He is calling you into the place of encounter with Him, where you will receive a fresh anointing. [1]

Your Father Speaks Over You

“And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”

When you encounter God’s Presence, you receive His love and affirmation. (Luke 1:28, NKJV)

Today, hear the Father speaking over you. “Beloved, you are blessed! You are highly favored!”

Breathe. And believe.
You are every bit as prized, loved, and valued as God says you are.

Mary’s response to the angel Gabriel gives us an example to reflect upon, as we listen to God for our own Heavenly instructions.

Her answer to God was one of humble and willing acceptance:
“Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” (Luke 1:38, NKJV)

These 2 Things Can’t Hold You Back!

1. Having Questions

Mary responded to the angel, “How can this be?” (Luke 1:34), and received an explanation.

Asking God questions is not necessarily a sign of doubt. Doubt and unbelief are usually seen in negative statements of “fact” or “forecast” (e.g. John 11:16).

  • Asking questions is a sign of relationship

Your Father loves to answer you. In your conversation with Him, you gain clarity, as He shares more of His heart with you.

2. Weakness

Paul wrote,
“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Cor 12:9, NKJV)

The “overshadowing of the Holy Spirit” is available to each one of us, through God’s grace in Christ.

A battle with weakness does not stop us from receiving God’s power (unless we are hiding it, or trying to compensate for it).

  • Our admission of weakness is a key to being empowered

If you have held back because of personal struggles, know that the Lord is calling you into the light, and back to the place of intimacy with Him!

Don’t allow a lie that says you are unworthy, to hold you back.
Hear your Father say, “Seek My Presence and you will see My Promise.”

Your Anointing is in the Secret Place

“And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you…”
(Luke 1:34-35, NKJV)

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

Many times, we are seeking the answer of our prophetic word, when God wants us to seek the anointing for that prophetic word.

It’s time to delight in His Presence.
And when God’s timing and His anointing intersect, you will see Divine acceleration take place.

  • You will rejoice as your prophetic word comes to pass.

And yes, it may be in a different way, at a different time, to what you expected. But your Father has not forgotten and He is faithful.
God is coming through for you.

  1. Hi. Reading your post has been so encouraging I enjoy reading everyone. I’ve been waiting on prophecies to be fulfilled in my life since 2012. Hopefully I will see the manifestations soon.

    1. Thank you Althea, and be encouraged to keep pressing in to God for His promises. Keep His words and His Word before the Throne

  2. Amen, I welcome God’s presence back to my life a fresh. A rebirth of the Lord’s power into my heart. Stand with me Hellen. Thank you

  3. Back in 2016 I was working in another state more than 10 1/2 hours, by vehicle, from my home. One Sunday I was laying on my bed reading a magazine, I was getting up to go use the restroom and that very second the thought entered my head “ I will make you a rich man”. I didn’t hear anything, no words, no voice just that thought. It was not just a random thought of mine, but I believe it was placed there from the most high. Needless to say I have been buying lottery tickets with much more enthusiasm waiting for the promise made to me be fulfilled. And I still wait, but I know it will be.
    Side note:
Back in 2008 I was struggling financially, borrowing money from my mother regularly. Which really bothered me. My siblings were borrowing from my mother also which bothered me as well. So one evening I knelt before my bed and prayed. I asked God if he could help my family out?
The very next week there was a message left on my answering machine and it was an unknown woman reciting a verse from the Bible. Something like “ he who believes in me shall never die”. I don’t remember the whole verse unfortunately. Then the very next week I get a phone call one evening, it’s my sister and she is going nuts on the phone and she finally gets out “I won the Megabucks” which is our local lottery here in Oregon. She won 6.6 million dollars. Wow talk about miracles.
So I know my time is near!!

    1. Wow, what an extraordinary testimony Mike!
Our Father provides in the small ways as well, the disciples picked up the fragments and the leftovers. May He reveal to you the various keys He has for your provision, the big and small miracles.

  4. Thank you so much Helen,it’s been quite long in a desert, barren, with no other option,to remedy the situation. I will wait once more and trust the word of a prophet,to see it all come to pass.
    Thanks again
    Stay blessed.

    1. I am praying for you right now, Nomathamsanqa, may you see His glory in the wilderness and His rivers in the desert!

  5. Thank you for the emails this past year. They have been so encouraging month after month. Just wanted to say thanks. Many blessings to you and your loved ones.
