If you’re facing what feels like an impossible situation, take heart in this word about victory:
“The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.” (Exodus 15:2a, NLT)
Recently, while attending our church conference, I glanced across the auditorium, which was filled with the sound of praise after a time of declaration. [1]
“This is a Red Sea moment!” I realized with awe.
It was the sound of victory.
The Red Sea Moment
In Exodus 14, the Israelites had left slavery in Egypt behind.
But Pharaoh was determined to get his slaves back, so he sent his army and chariots after them.
The Israelites were trapped with the Red Sea ahead and Pharaoh’s army behind.
Moses declared,
“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” (Exodus 14:14, NKJV)
5 Prophetic Insights About Victory From the Red Sea Crossing
1. God Makes a Way in Impossibility
At this pivotal moment, the Red Sea seemed impassable, and the people began to complain:
- “We were delivered from Egypt only to be killed in the wilderness!”
- “We should have stayed where we were” (see Ex 14:11-12)
And this is relatable.
How often are we tempted to regret our journey—even our obedience to God—when events don’t go as expected?
Yet this story reminds us of God’s faithfulness.
What seems impossible to us is God’s moment to act.
The psalmist tells us,
“Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters— a pathway no one knew was there!” (Psalms 77:19 NLT)
As we face our sea of impossibility, we can remember this:
God’s invisible footprints are deep in the waters—on the unseen seabed.
2. The Goodness of God is Full of Victory
Sometimes, we hold onto God’s promises, but threats loom.
And the night seems long.
Yet God is singing songs of deliverance over us (Psalm 32:7).
Beloved, you are about to have a revelation of God’s goodness.
He says, “My goodness is powerful. It is abundant, it is full of victory.”
Let’s declare,
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life”. (Psalm 23:6, NKJV)
Now is the time to recall God’s goodness—for it is not passive, but active and powerful!
It comes with the power to overcome the enemy.
3. God has an Abundance of Restoration
As the Israelites left Egypt, they carried an abundance of gifts.
This wealth symbolized God’s restoration.
- Repayment for their years of unpaid labor
- Provision for their worship and their future.
Pharaoh expressly wanted his slaves back—but he would also strip them of the abundance they carried.
The same is true today. The enemy wants to steal the abundant life God has promised us.
But Jesus said:
“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10, NKJV)
A Red Sea Moment in Our Journey
As I recognized the “Red Sea moment” I remembered something that happened recently.
At the time, my husband and I were driving home.
Just as we were about to join the motorway, we saw the approaching car lose its front wheel.
The wheel flew off at high speed, rolling directly into our lane. Then, miraculously, it veered off to the side of the highway, causing no harm.
But what gave this moment even more significance, was the unusual delay we had just experienced.
An Accident Prevented
Just minutes earlier, we were briefly held up by a car that had stopped ahead of us. To our surprise, it was a red Ferrari!
The driver stepped out of his car to inspect the cause, and we turned to pass him.
That brief delay—just a couple of seconds—meant we were not in the path of the flying wheel or the damaged car.
As we drove home, we praised God for what was surely a divine intervention. [2]
It was a vivid reminder of how God protects and orchestrates even the smallest details of our lives.
And also, to trust God when delays happen, for He sees the pathways ahead.
- A delay may be a deliverance in disguise!
4. A New Sound of Praise is Here
“the Lord …took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.” (Exodus 14:25, NKJV)
The Lord wants us to know that the wheels of the enemy’s plans are coming off!
God is releasing a sound of victory, a new song for a new day.
Like the song of triumph Moses and Miriam led—it was a sound never heard before.
But it became their new theme song! (Exodus 15)
Our praise comes from the revelation of victory.
Knowing that the blood of Jesus is our red line of deliverance, protection, and victory.
Just as the Red Sea marked the final defeat of Egypt’s army, the Cross sealed the defeat of the enemy (Col 2:15).
It’s time to cross over.
5. There’s A New Victory for a New Day
There is a new way of victory for the new day.
Be encouraged by a past victory, be inspired by it—let it feed your faith!
But know that the new thing God is doing in your life is fresh.
Let’s declare, “God is making a way in my impossible situation!”
“Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea
And a path through the mighty waters…”“Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:16, 18-19, NKJV )

Oh Helen, what a timely word. As I write this, I sit here in so much pain and grief. Thinking, how can I go forward? But God gives good encouragement, and did so through you this morning. My heart is broken and I do not know where to go or what to do this morning. But I will look to the Lord, I will cry out to Him. And watch Him move.

As I write, I am in bed. For the past few hours, negative thoughts have been passing through my mind because of the rejection letters I have received from a couple of employment interviews I had. I have been receiving calls from creditors etc. Thinking about bills and the needs of my family etc. and that got me stressed. I thank the Holy Spirit for leading me to read this passage. New victory for a new day! What is destined for me is fresh! God is making a way in my impossible situation. I will come back to testify of the goodness of the Lord. For His goodness follows me all the days… not some… but all. Amen.

This is profound and helped me have faith and focus on God and trust that my circumstances are part of the deliverance process.
What spoke to me is , An accident delayed because a few days ago I was in the same kind of situation. It had recently rained heavily in our country(Botswana) and there is plenty of natural plants that we grew up eating( I am 45 now) I picked some and prepared them.
After consuming that I began throwing up and what stands out is that my daughter did not consume it with me. I celebrate the victory because had she consumed it, we would have been sick the two of us.
How wonderful is God’s mercy, Marea, and His grace towards your family. I pray you are fully healed, strengthened and renewed in faith
We have been in a place of transition last year. The Lord spoke to me about the Red Sea. My 1st scripture this year was Isaiah 51:10
Was it not you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, who made a road in the depths of the sea so that the redeemed might cross over?
This speaks to me God has an Abundance of Restoration

Thanks for the word of encouragement I don’t know what God is doing in my life but what I do know it’s time for a change and I’m still waiting on his,directions. I believe that he wants to do a new thing and he’s letting me know that old things have passed away. This is reference to the church I’m attending

Wow This really spoke to me. I took care of my mom from Mar 2020 – Aug 2023. She passed November 2023. I was able to walk until I left which the Lord opened the door. I had problems with my legs in pain while taken care of her. Now I’m using a walker due to arthritis in hips lower back and hip bone rubbing. Pain is worst than ever. She received the Lord June 2021. So I believed i made right decision, but my life has flipped upside down . I was stripped from things by a family member that was rightfully mine. This was not at all what I expected. Yet deep inside I know all this will be healed. It’s the going through believing His promises because it doesn’t look like it’s getting better. This gave me so much hope to hang on He’s not done yet.
