If you are thirsty for God, in a dry place, or are wondering about direction—God has fresh springs for you to tap into!
He is quenching your thirst and giving you life.
Springs are a life-giving source of underground water. And in the Bible, they can represent life, the Holy Spirit, provision, and refreshment.
God says, “I will open rivers in desolate heights, And fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, And the dry land springs of water.” (Isaiah 41:18 NKJV)
Springs are Places of Divine Encounter
In Genesis 16, a woman called Hagar is running away from her home—and is headed towards a wilderness location called, Shur.
The name “Shur” means, “wall” (Strong’s H7791), which provides us with a relatable picture.
Because “hit a wall” is an expression we use. It means to arrive at a point beyond which there is no further progress.
So, if it seems you are about to “hit the wall” in some way, God intends to turn your wall into a well of life!
God Provides Springs and Wells
Hagar is running from a painful situation, but her flight is about to be interrupted.
“The angel of the Lord found Hagar beside a spring of water in the wilderness, along the road to Shur.” (Genesis 16:7, NLT)
By the spring, Hagar discovers that despite her checkered past, God is personally interested in her. And He has a plan for her family and future.
- Do you have a loved one that is “on the run” from God?
- To their surprise, they will discover that they are about to run into Him
Hagar’s story also reminds us that God provides “springs” and “wells” as places of Divine encounter.
A Note from a Past Revival
A few years ago, I was sorting through an old pile of papers when I found a street map that was over 20 years old.
It was a map of Brownsville, in Pensacola, Florida.
My husband Malcolm used it in 1997, to find his way to the church when he visited the revival meetings there.
As I picked up the map, I had an irresistible urge to have some fun with it!
So, I wandered into our living area, where Malcolm sat on the couch.
And I struck him on the shoulder with the map, saying, “You’ve still got it!”
As soon as he realized what the piece of paper was, Malcolm was amazed!
Because he had just read a story from the Brownsville revival.
And my words were God’s answer to the reflection of his heart.
Revival Springs from a Past Generation
Now, Malcolm held the same map in his hand that he did all those years ago!
In times like these, we recognize that while God uses times, seasons, and places, the move of the Holy Spirit is not over.
He never changes, and that anointing is still “LIVE” and in the heavenly places, where we can access it.
A spring of revival flowed in a past generation.
Now, the Holy Spirit is refreshing our understanding, and giving us access again.
I believe He is saying, “I am revealing the hidden springs of revival, the forgotten springs, and the locked springs!”
Springs can be Redeemed
Like a tributary that tips into a river, our encounters with God in places of revival have fed into our lives.
And the stories and the move of the Spirit are a part of our legacy.
But not all of our memories are “happy” ones.
There was one time, when we visited a revival, only to return home to a fiery trial!
This is the power of redemption—that years later, God comes to us and says, “That spring is still open! Come to Me and drink again.”
And we discover, “There is another side to that story!”
Our eyes open to see that God has been waiting for us by the spring all along!
And right here, by the spring, He provides us with fresh instructions and new opportunities.
Heaven is Open Over You
Hagar named that place, “Well of the Living God Who Sees Me” (Gen 16:13-14).
It was the first of two times God met her by a spring.
Perhaps you can relate to having a significant encounter with God in the past, or you long for one. The Lord wants you to know, He sees you.
And even if something interrupted that “download” from Heaven, it still exists in fullness.
Now is the time to receive—for Heaven is open over you.
And the fresh, pure water of the Spirit is pouring upon you.

Just wanted to share this! What a great blessing you are to me! There is a YouTube teaching I give on journaling that will raise your eyebrows! The Lord has directed me to the pen and camera and is allowing his influence to unfold. What a beautiful discovery process it is. And now I understand why God has been fine-tuning and cleaning me and my attitudes for years and years, and has only begun to reveal himself and his treasures that I find in the scriptures EVERY day. Oh, if I could only share 1/1000th of my passion for the scriptures! I talk to people and they are so deceived and blind and something or someone has said something in their lives that has barred shut the door. I pray that the Lord of heaven would shake the keys through me! In Jesus’ name!
How wonderful, Fritz, I love your circle. “May it begin with us!”
Praise God I feel refreshed now. My spiritual understanding is refreshed. God bless
That’s lovely Addie

Dear Helen,
I’m an artist in America. My husband went to be with Jesus in March, and I feel very lost right now in this season. He passed the baton in his ministry last year and I’m welcome to participate, but I’ve declined. There are so many decisions to make, and I know a shift is coming. Your posts have enriched my life many times through the years. The Lord used Isaiah’s words to refresh me 50 years ago when I was starting over after a divorce. Now I’m widowed and beginning a new life without the love of my life. Thank you for telling me that God sees me, my grief, uncertainty, and physical pain also. Widowhood is a lonely place, and the Lord meets me frequently in my solitude. I know I hear Him. I know His voice. He spoke so frequently through my prophetic husband. I miss him terribly. Thank you so much again.
Dear Kate,
I just read your comment and thought I know what you are going through and prayed and got Jerimiah 31,3 for you.
Jesus is always with the brokenhearted and never leaves you alone.
Conny
