Over the next few weeks, I am going to share some thoughts on how to weigh up prophetic words for the New Year, as well as how to receive the Father’s encouragement for you personally.
I will also communicate some specific prophetic insights that I have sought God about, for my readers and for the church in general.

Before we embark on this journey, here are some things about the coming year that, whether you have a prophetic word or not, you can have absolute assurance on:

1. It is Time to Release past things that have been Holding you Back

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:18-19)

You do not have to continue tripping up over past issues, old habits and ingrained thought patterns. Your Heavenly Father’s plan for you is freedom, and He has paid the ultimate price in the shed blood of His Son Jesus.

You already have the word of release, but you have to rise up in faith and take it. Persevere in 2012 for the freedom of yourself and others—and chains that have held you back will be broken.

2. God is Working all things Together for Good

‘And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.’ (Rom 8:28)

‘Good’ does not mean ‘as we like it.’ ‘Good’ means, ‘the outcome that our Heavenly Father, Who knows the end from the beginning, has intended for us.’ And He is completely trustworthy.

The Gospel, the Good News of Jesus is one of redemption—and He loves you immeasurably.

No matter what you have done; no matter what has been done to you, His plan is to restore. He desires to bring ultimate good out of the pain and trouble of the past—to turn your tests into a testimony, and your mess into a message.

And whatever comes your way, know that His goodness is with you every step of your journey.

‘Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.’ (Ps 23:6)

3. You can Experience great Fruitfulness this Year

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.’ (John 15:16)

God’s plan for your life this coming year is one of fruitfulness.

In our culture today we equate fruitfulness with tangible results, but that is not the way of God’s Kingdom.

  • Kingdom fruitfulness is sourced and rooted in the Holy Spirit and grows out of our intimate relationship with God
  • Then it overflows into our inner life and attitudes (Gal 5:22-25)
  • Finally, it results in obedient action that reproduces His purpose in our lives and that of others.

God’s plan for you is fruitfulness—but it will require your cooperation—it will require you to rise up and say, ‘No matter what! This year, I will rise up and be all God has called me to be.’

4. God Wants you to draw Closer to Him

‘Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.’ (Jesus – Rev 3:20)

There is no end to the depth of intimacy that is available in our relationship with God. There is no end to the revelation of who He is and His ways that we can learn about and discover.

This coming year, you can draw closer to God than you have ever done before. If you have drifted from your first love in your relationship with Him, you can choose to return. What does taking that step look like for you? Today you can begin the journey.

Do you have any scriptural promises that you could share with others? I would love to hear from you. Leave a comment in the comments box below. If the comments box is not visible, click on this link and scroll down.

  1. Thank You for this confirmation post Mrs. Calder. I went to my first introduction meeting at my Pastor’s home a few weeks ago. They gave me an overview regarding ministering and left me with scripture to meditate on. It was a lot of information….. and there I was again doubting God….. I was like God you sure this is me? but then I think on what else would make my life fulfilled….. The answer… nothing…. Nothing fulfills me more than spreading the good news….
My Pastors left me with some scripture to meditate on , in fact the exact scriptue you have in your post….. It’s amazing how GOD works… I was just praying this morning, and I told God i’m seeking true transformation, no more reflecting on my past, which has done nothing but held me back…… And then you said: It is time to release past things that have been holding ou back. I also told God that I was ready to kick this fear thing, another handicap, because it makes me afraid to open my mouth…. then you say: you can experience great fruitfulness this… I want to comfortably walk in what God has called me to do.. I don’t care how long it takes me to get there, as long as I can walk and grow in my getting there….

    1. Hi Amy,
Well you can be certain you are in very good company – think of all those Bible heroes who experienced self-doubts and fears when God first called them or gave them an assignment. Moses, Joshua, Jeremiah, to name a few. I can relate to that myself, certainly every time the assignment Father gives me gets bigger and more challenging, there again is the temptation of doubt and fear to overcome. 🙂
You are in exactly the right place, and you are a mighty woman of God.
How wonderful to provide confirmation through the blog today! Have a blessed week leading up to New Year. 2012 will be great.

  2. Wow God’s spirit is moving . This morning I had my quiet time with the Father and the word from Mathew 13- The parable of the sower, was my devotion. The parable is my word for 2012…. to count myself blessed , fruitfull I had to release the past. We had a session with my mom begging her to come clean before God so that my sisters and I can be released from past hurts, disapointments and not repeating the same mistakes. Believing God will work it all together for our good but we must be obedient in our hearing, seeing and doing the word in order to experience the spiritual abundance due to us. verse 23..I called for a time of prayer on the 30th December to hear what is on the father”s heart for his children, a time to press into his will and not mine. Reading your email I was in awe yet again of God’s faithfulness.

Thanks Helen for your commitment pressing in ever hearing, seeing and understanding the father’s heart for us.
    God bless

    1. Hi Nadia,
Yes, wow it seems you are entering a season of breakthrough, a time of releasing the old and receiving the new.
How wonderful is our God that through Jesus’ blood He can wash even a family generation clean, break the power of past mistakes and provide a new start. I pray that you will know with confidence the powerful heritage He is placing into your hands; a new, rich heritage of grace to pass on to many.
May you continue to be blessed as you journey in this. I sense that the fruitfulness He has for you will be beyond what you could imagine.

  3. My scriptural promise is:Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ (Isaiah 41:10 NKJV)

  4. The scriptural promise I have is Acts4:16, 21, 22. Heavenly Father, let extraordinary miracles be done thru us so that it is plain to all & cannot be denied & let everyone praise & glorify You in Jesus Mighty Name!

  5. I really enjoy reading your prophetic words. Your prophetic confirms what the Holy Spirit is speaking in my heart. I truly believe that in 2016 we need to have more of the Holy Spirit working in our life. I believe our relationship with God must become more deeper and intimate. We need to seek him with a sincere heart. And last we must leave our walking in the Spirit and wearing the complete armor of God. Continue to feed us on the prophetic messages of God. You are in my prayers. God bless you and your ministry.
