Prophetic Insight: Run as His Beloved

Run as His BelovedStaying on track is important, and that means effort and focus. But there is one thing on God’s heart above all else.

It is not the track itself.

It is that you run as His beloved.

Beloved means: much loved, treasured, dear, favorite, prized and esteemed.

This is the heart of your identity. You are beloved to Him. And when you run as His beloved one; when ‘Beloved’ is emblazoned upon your forehead, it changes the way you run.

You are completely secure in His love. You are not striving. You are not running for the approval of others.

If you trip up, you can get up. You run without fear of reprisal.

Your focus is on the One Who loves you.

Jesus is the One you look towards and fix your gaze upon. He is also your running Companion. He takes pleasure in your company, and that motivates you to keep in step with Him.

You are running as His beloved.

‘…let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.’ (Heb 12:1-2)

6 Benefits of ‘Running as His Beloved’

Here is a short Biblical devotion on what happens when you run as His beloved. You might like to take time to meditate on these scriptures, journal and pray about what the Holy Spirit is showing you:

1. Running as His Beloved Removes Fear

No matter what is happening, you know that your Father loves you and is taking care of you. You receive His assurance and comfort.

David (whose name meant ‘beloved’) wrote: ‘Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.’ (Psalm 23:4)

2. Running as His Beloved Gives You Rest

‘About Benjamin [Moses] said: “Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders.”’ (Deut 33:12)

The blessing of being God’s beloved is that you can find a place of rest in Him. You can let down your guard, lay down your burdens, relax and lean into Him. His arms and His comfort surround you.

3. Running as His Beloved Gives You Intimacy with God

In John 13, the ‘beloved disciple’ is reclining against Jesus’ chest, close to His heart, privy to His secrets. (John 13:23-26) Knowing you are beloved empowers you to draw close to God. You are wooed to that place of intimacy where you can hear His voice.

4. Running as His Beloved gives you Courage to Emerge

‘Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me.” My dove in the clefts of the rock, in the hiding places on the mountainside, show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.’ (Song of Songs 2:13b-14)

When you know that you are beloved, you have courage to emerge from your comfort zones and your hiding places. You have boldness to speak because you know that to Him, your voice is wonderful.

5. Running as His Beloved Leads you to Restoration.

‘This is what the Lord says: “The people who survive the sword will find favor in the wilderness; I will come to give rest to Israel.” The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”’ (Jer 31:2-3)

Knowing you are beloved opens your heart to the experience of God’s kindness. You follow Him, and He leads you to restoration. Hear Him say, ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love! My love for you never fails!’

6. Running as His Beloved Enables You to Shine

Joseph wore the ornamental coat of his father’s love and favour. (Gen 37:3) When you are beloved, you have the security to be yourself: to stand out, to wear your unique colours, and to shine as the unique person God has created you to be.

  1. I just want to say Helen that I received this blog in my email this morning on the last day of a three day fast. (I am fasting and praying for President-Elect Donald Trump and the coming administration before his inauguration tomorrow, as well as for confirmation for something I believe God has laid on my heart to do in the near future) Your writing truly did provide me with just the insight that I needed to fully recognize and work past a deep-seated issue that continues to try to hinder me from walking in all that God has for me. I’ve been a committed disciple for a long time now, and certainly not a novice in the things of the Spirit; but no matter how “far along” we are, as members of the Body of Christ we still one another to lift us up and keep us on track. Thank you for being such a great source of encouragement to me today. Be Blessed!

    1. Hi Cindy, thank you! That is so true that no matter how far along we go in our walk with God He has more of His love to reveal to us and many more ‘upgrades’ in our experience of Him.
Yes here in Australia we are also watching the inauguration with interest, and praying for God’s hand of protection and direction for the event and you all in the US.

      1. Thank you again, Helen. We certainly covet the prayers of the Saints throughout the world for the USA and for our new President and administration. I received a prophetic dream in 2007 about Donald Trump, so by God’s Grace I had insight in advance that I did my best to share with the Body of Christ. As such I am personally so very grateful to the Lord for what is transpiring and am filled with hope and promise for the future. God is on the move!

    2. I want to thank you for the encouraging words everything was true .That makes me run just a little more harder.

  2. I have just starting reading your blog this was right on time. This is the fourth one I have read. I have been encouraged and strengthen and have learned something new about myself I look forward to reading more. Be Bless Woman of God!!

  3. Hello Dear Helen~I find it amazing that each time you post, for me, it ends up being extremely personal and you constantly hit the bull’s eye! I have been feeling so spiritually exhausted, praying daily spiritual warfare prayers (I live in a town that was established during Washington’s campaign on the Brandywine and there is a curse upon the land. The Lenape Indians were given this land by William Penn but as soon as he passed away, Penn’s family evicted the Indians so they cursed the land!) Your sermon included “a dove in the cleft of the rocks” and I was asking God just to let me be a dove in His garden, so that I can rest! I feel the Holy Spirit coming through you and I must say I am spiritual fed! As soon as I am working again I will be sending tithes your way. Presently both my husband and I are not working! Ugh! We have been out of work since my car accident (3 years) but I trust God has a plan and I know that He is working in me! Praise God Almighty! Thank you so much Helen~know that you are greatly loved! Most Sincerely, Stacie

    1. Hi Stacie, what interesting (and sad) history you have there. I had similar history in one city in NZ I lived in for 8 years. It’s good to know that our God is a redeemer and is working the opposite of what the enemy has stolen! I am reminded of this article, I think may interest you…also, I pray for your own healing and restoration in the area of employment.

  4. The sharing is so relevant to me as I go through a difficult time in my walk with God. Sometimes when we are ridiculed by our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ we forget that we are loved unconditionally. Thank you for the sharing.

  5. Thank you Helen, I know for sure that it was God who sends your across my path! I’m learning a lot and it’s if you’re seeing inside mg heart…God bless you!!

  6. Happy New Years Helen, and family!!!
Thank you for this article it is truly lovely and it gives me joy to know that we are God’s beloved. Sometimes it is so hard to see that God is mindful of us let alone how deeply He cares for us, because of our own insufficiency. Thank you for the reminder. I pray this gives not only me but the many others reading this blog the strength and courage we need to hold God’s hand and experience the love He has so deeply for us. God bless you and always praying for you sister.

    1. Thank you Tanika! I feel your support and it means a lot to me.
I was going to start the year with a teaching article but found the Holy Spirit drawing me to this word. I love the heart of God for His people! <3
