3-D Thanksgiving

Prophetic_ThanksgivingAs prophetic people, we have the opportunity to walk in 3-dimensional thanksgiving. This means that we can:

  • Express our gratitude for what God has done in the past
  • Thank Him for all that He is and has given to us today, and
  • Thank God for the future fulfilment of His prophetic word

By giving thanks ahead of time, we are acknowledging that God is the source of what He has promised and that we are receiving it from Him by faith. This is prophetic thanksgiving.

In prophetic praise, we are extolling and declaring God’s virtues, and the greatness of His future acts.

God is deserving of our prophetic thanksgiving and praise. It honors Him. We are declaring and affirming His will, His faithfulness, and His Sovereignty.

4 Benefits of Prophetic Thanksgiving and Praise

Prophetic thanksgiving and praise not only honors God—but it also releases benefits to us as well. Here are 4 good things that prophetic praise and thanksgiving will release in your life.

1. It Releases Heaven’s Perspective in Your Life

When you thank and praise God for His acts ahead of time, it shifts you from earth’s perspective, the temporal viewpoint, to Heaven’s perspective. This is the eternal viewpoint where the past present and future are seen together.

Prophetic praise and thanksgiving enables you to have a Kingdom perspective even in the darkest of times.

David provides an example of this in the Psalms—especially Psalms 52 and 57. During his most difficult times of trial, he is able to look ahead to the fulfillment of God’s purpose for his life, and praise God in that dark place for what is yet to come.

It is as though he has one foot in the present, being honest and real in his cry to God in the trial. And he simultaneously has another foot in the future, in the fulfillment of God’s prophetic outcome for his life, and is praising God in faith.

‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.’ (Phil 4:6)

Having Heaven’s perspective will alleviate fear and anxiety concerning the future. You can pray about situations with thanksgiving, knowing that your Father is in control and His desired outcome will take place.

2. It Builds Your Faith

‘Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].’ (Heb 11:1, AMP)

Prophetic thanksgiving is the voice of faith. By faith, you have the title deed, or ownership papers of what God has promised already in your hand. You rejoice and express your gratitude to your Father!

As you voice your faith in God through praise and thanksgiving during times of trial, it is a powerful witness to others. Paul and Silas sang hymns whilst imprisoned in a dungeon—and others were listening in. When the power of God shook open the doors there was no doubt as to the Source of that deliverance and the jailer and his household came to faith that night. (Acts 16)

3. It is a Means of Breakthrough

Your words in agreement with God’s intentions are powerful.

King Jehoshaphat faced certain defeat when a great army was arrayed against Judah. (2 Chron 20) But then came the word of the Lord—a prophecy that God would deliver them without a fight.

Believing God’s word, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever.”’ (2 Chron 20:21)

As the prophetic thanksgiving and praise went up to God, the enemy turned upon and destroyed each other.

Prophetic thanksgiving and praise hold powerful keys to breakthrough!

It releases the power of the Holy Spirit into situations and breaks down the opposition so that God’s purpose is accomplished.

4. It Leads you into Encounters with God

‘Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.’ (Psalm 100:4)

Prophetic thanksgiving and praise brings the atmosphere of Heaven to earth. As you lift your heart and voice in gratitude and praise to God, you will find yourself more aware of His Presence and less aware of the problems that surround you.

You will find yourself face to face with your Heavenly Father.

  1. Thank you so much Helen, I Love how Prophetic Thanksgiving and Praise brings the Atmosphere of Heaven to earth. It’s like Heaven and earth become ONE as we WORSHIP JESUS CHRIST the SON.
I think Prophetic Thanksgiving and Praise also helps us to Refocus our Hearts back to Our Heavenly FATHER and the Promises in the WORD of GOD. I love reading Isaiah ch 61:3 the OIL of JOY, and the Garment of PRAISE for the spirit of heaviness.
This is my testimony, I have written it as a Poem called, “Refocus” because, I know Heaven and earth become ONE, as I Focus the Eyes of my Heart, on JESUS the SON.

When I was weary, and felt that I could not See
I felt worn out, and there was nothing left in me

Then Suddenly, GOD BREATHED INTO ME
I felt HIS Precious HOLY SPIRIT, Begin to Impart
    Fresh Anointing into my Heart

    SUDDENLY, I could See
The River of Life, Flowing ALL Over me
HOLY SPIRIT Pouring OIL of JOY into my Heart

It was like the Oil of Heaven, Washing All Over me
    Anointing my Eyes to See
I Abide in CHRIST, and CHRIST Abides in me
I Belong to CHRIST, and CHRIST Belongs to me
I Have Been Chosen in the Heart of GOD, Before the Foundation of the World you See
Such a Wonderful, Glorious, Beautiful Mystery
CHRIST in me, the HOPE of Glory

Oil of Heaven, Flooding All Over me
Rivers of Living Water, Running So Crystal Clear
HOLY SPIRIT is Drawing me Near
    Suddenly, I Begin to Hear

JESUS is Standing at the Door
Suddenly, I Begin to Dream Once More
The Veil of Heaven Opened Up, Beyond the Sky
Then Suddenly I could Hear, the BREATH of GOD so Near

    GOD BREATHED, INTO ME
    Then Suddenly, I could See
The RISEN CHRIST inside of Me
Such a Wonderful, Glorious, Beautiful Mystery
The Peace of HIS HOLY Presence, Flooding All Over me

Just like a Twinkling of an Eye
The Veil of Heaven Opened Up, Beyond the Sky
    Then Suddenly, I could See
GOD Breathing New Life into me
    Suddenly, I could Hear
The BREATH of GOD so Near
Suddenly, Heaven and earth become ONE
As I Focus my Eyes on JESUS the SON

  2. I love it, Irene!
Thanks so much for leaving your inspiring poems here! I love the thought of ‘refocus’, it is something God is speaking to me about lately, refocusing on encountering Him, being with Him, relating to Him.
May the prophetic flow continue, Irene!

  3. Thank you so much Helen,
I have learned a lot from you and prophetic praise is one of those key lessons. When we praise God for what He is about to do, it is proof that we have faith. That we are basing our reality on what God has declared in the spirit realm as opposed to reality in the physical realm.

  4. Hi Chris, that is such a good point! I believe that voicing praise for what God will do is not only proof of our faith, it also stirs up our faith.
One of the mistakes I personally sometimes make is to confuse faith with feelings, and if I don’t FEEL faith, I don’t think I have it! But I have come to realise that faith – as is trust – is not a feeling, but a position that I take, a choice that I make and actions that I take. May your praise rise up today and may you be enlarged in your faith, Chris!

  5. Thank you Sam, and you and yours also!
I am in the middle of cooking now…just creating some dip and about to do some stuffing for the turkey. Our Thursday night is quite a few hours ahead of yours 🙂
