Fresh Bread: “It’s a Tipping Point Moment”

Last week, a friend left fresh, home-baked bread on our doorstep.
It was a lovely gift, and an unusual one!
I can’t remember this ever happening to us before.

As that fresh loaf of bread sat on our kitchen counter, I remembered a prophetic word I shared with a church, just a few days earlier.

“God has fresh bread for you. There is bread in the ‘House of Bread’ again.

It’s a tipping point moment!”

Through that gift of bread, I heard the Holy Spirit say, “Pay attention! This message is still live!” [1]

The Tipping Point of the Kingdom

Fresh Bread: It's a Tipping Point MomentIf you feel hidden right now, know that you are hidden with a purpose.
God is at work! He is doing something supernatural, and what will emerge is miraculous.

Jesus spoke a remarkable parable that spoke of this:

“The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.” (Matt 13:33, NIV)

  • The Greek word translated “mixed” or “hid”, enkrypto (G1470) means “concealed”.

In this parable (just as in Jesus’ preceding parable of the mustard seed)  we have something that starts small.
It is sown into invisibility.
But it has power—it has the capacity to grow and become great.

And then comes the tipping point moment!
That which has been hidden is revealed.
Growth, which has been concealed, becomes noticeable.

The Kingdom Paradox

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin…” (Zech 4:10a, NLT)

Jesus’ use of yeast as a metaphor here is offbeat!
It stands out.
Yeast, or leaven, consistently symbolises evil in the Bible! [2] And yet, in this one place, Jesus likens the Kingdom to leaven.

Why? Jesus is speaking of the paradox of the Kingdom.

God’s word, and work, may have small beginnings—but like the yeast, the very nature of the Kingdom’s DNA is to multiply and grow.

The House of Bread

There are times when the outcome of a word from God seems to be held up.
That word may be hidden, but like the yeast, or the mustard seed, it is alive, and active.

Take Bethlehem, for example.
The name ‘Bethlehem’ means “House of Bread,” and the town’s original name, Ephrathah means fruitful, or fertile. [3]

Yet for a short season, as the book of Ruth opened, there was no bread in the “House of Bread.” There was a famine in the place that was named “fruitful.”
It was a contradiction.

Perhaps you can relate to that today.
“God, you gave me a dream, a destiny, a calling! I had a prophetic word, an encounter with You, a Scripture.
And yet right now, it seems as though the opposite is taking place!
I am living in a contradiction!”

The Launching Place of Destiny

This is what I believe the Lord is highlighting to us right now:
Throughout that long period of famine, whenever anyone said the name, “Bethlehem”, they were prophesying.
“House of bread…House of Bread!”

Now is a time to prophesy a word of God’s goodness over your life, church, family and region.
To remember the promises and words of the past.
Declare them again, in the face of everything that says otherwise.

For God’s word, His promise to you holds power!
Though for a season it’s reality may be hidden, it is alive and at work. And what God has declared will come to pass.

And there came a day a woman called Naomi “heard in the country of Moab that the Lord had visited His people by giving them bread” (Ruth 1:6b, NKJV)

It was a tipping point moment.

If you can relate to this story, know that in your situation, God’s word—His Kingdom—is at work.

And just as happened with Naomi, the place of loss will become the launching place of destiny.

Victory will Emerge

What does “fresh bread” mean for you today?
It may be supply, comfort, freedom or healing.
It could be the reawakening of a promise.
Or a word of destiny.

I love that the name of our State in Australia is Victoria. The name means “victory”. Conqueror.

Yet right now, we are struggling. Covid-19 has brought sudden loss and hardship.
But I believe that no matter what we are going through right now,
Victory is going through it, and victory will emerge.

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (Rom 8:37, NKJV)

So, call out what He has declared.
For as you do, it’s a tipping point moment.

This is the time of fresh bread.

[2] E.g., leaven is seen as a symbol of: Hypocrisy (Luke 12:1), Malice and wickedness (1 Cor 5:8), False teaching (Gal 5:9)
Also see OT—leaven forbidden from Passover and holy offerings.

[3] In the Bible, a God-given name speaks to identity and destiny. “House of Bread,” was not only descriptive, it was also prophetic. Bethlehem was to be a place of Divine destiny—the future birthplace of King David, and of Jesus Christ; one of whose names is, “The Bread of Life.”

Thousands of children were orphaned and left to starve during the bombing raids of World War II. These children were rescued and sent to refugee camps where they received food and shelter. Even though they were once again safe and well cared for, they were unable to sleep at night. They were afraid they would wake up and be hungry again.

Nothing the adults did seemed to reassure them, until one night someone thought to send one of the children to bed with a loaf of bread. It worked! Sleeping with bread, holding onto it, the children were able to fall asleep.

He is the bread of our life. He is our hope for tomorrow. Hug him and sleep.

I love that your message came through at 11:11- gives me hope as well-
I love this word from hs thank you for being open to the blessing of hearing from him. I think my bread is many things personal transformation out of negative energy patterns, calling in work/ministries/worship, provisions of a immaculate scale to survive our rich/poor area in which we live, to live and GIVE more on this earth. Identity as well.
Who am I to him and who is he to I?
I’m 33 and Jesus Christ was crucified at this age.
I thought 2020 was going to be a little different from what it is, however I see past all of this change from the virus.. there is beauty, goodwill, connection, love everywhere I look and it’s a blessing.
      Thank you for the bread.

Hi Whitney, you remind me of 2 Sam 5 when David was anointed king and his enemies heard and surrounded him, he defeated them, that’s when he called God, Lord of the Breakthrough! “As waters break out”. I pray you continue to have such bold faith, knowing you are anointed and called. <3

You are truly a blessing. I was struggling with so many voices who claim to be apostles and prophets recently in the midst of this storm, then this post. Thank you. I will be preaching on Isaiah 40 on Sunday and we will celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. Your words confirmed what I heard the Spirit has been saying for these past few weeks. I am in your school and working through my classes one day at a time. You are such a good teacher. May the Lord continue to empower you so to grow us in the Spirit.

Hi Banu, it’s wonderful to hear from you!
I pray you have a fresh anointing on the Lord’s Supper and ministry on Sunday.

Hi Ian, I’ve been praying for you and your business situation, I pray that you will be enabled to see and locate the opportunities and all you need for the next steps forward

Hi Helen, Great message from the Lord to us. To me fresh bread means a new beginning,a fresh start,a new anointing and fragrance. Just as fresh bread has this good aroma. I pray that God will indeed bring to a good aroma all that is down within us. Especially for me as I go through some lonely moments. It’s hard to trust God at times. But I do pray for strength never to get weary. God bless you

  6. Wesley

Each time your posts always resonate with me. I am indeed very blessed with this message of fresh bread. God bless you richly.

I was at a meeting where a prophetic word was given concerning Australia. If you don’t mind I can send it to you via your email.

    Thanks and remain blessed.

  7. Dorothy

I just love it when a Pastor walks up to a pulpit and says I had a sermon all prepared but the Lord gave me a new message this morning I call that FRESH BREAD and it is always a word in season..

    1. Helen Calder Post author

      Yes what wonderful moments Dorothy!

It reminds me of this verse
“Then He said to them, “Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.””
      Matthew 13:52 NKJV

  8. Dora

Hmmm, I had alot of prophecies of God on my life, but it seems things are not changing, but rather seeing myself in Spiritual battles, but I still hold unto all the prophecies for I know God is not a liar and He will never fail me, my name means ,gift of God ( Dora ) therefore in the name of Jesus Christ, I Dora shall fulfil my destiny and declare God’s goodness to generations to come. Thank you, Woman of God ( Helen ) for all your help. God bless you. Please remember me in your prayers. Thank you.

  9. Zoleka

Amen and Amen! Thank you Helen, once more this word has just come at the very moment I needed to hear it. We all had prophetic words and promises even made plans and now came coronary virus which has caused the whole world to be at a standstill. But one thing I believe in is that our heavenly Father is still in control and tomorrow shall come with different atmosphere. May God bless you Helen, and continue to talk to you so you continue to give hope to the hopeless. Blessings to you
