7 Ways You Can Prepare for Divine Acceleration

Divine acceleration is God’s ability to bring about His purposes at a much faster rate than is humanly possible.

When you are in a season of Divine acceleration, you experience a sudden, supernatural surge forward! God’s promises are being fulfilled in one or more areas of your life.

Divine AccelerationDivine acceleration is a principle seen throughout Scripture. And there is frequently a pattern to it:

  • God gives a prophetic promise to His people, but then time passes by
  • There is weakness, there is waiting, there are trials
  • Perhaps, an injustice has taken place, and the promise appears to have been stolen

And then, just as everything seems lost, God steps in.

As the book of Exodus opens, for example, Israel has been in slavery for hundreds of years. Yet following a short time of signs and wonders led by Moses and Aaron, God delivers them in a single night!

During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the Lord as you have requested. Take your flocks and herds, as you have said, and go. And also bless me.” (Ex 12:31-32)

“During the night”
Perhaps today, you feel as though you have been living in the night hours. Know that your Father is at work right now!
“During the night”, Heavenly orders are being issued on your behalf.

7 Ways You Can Prepare for Divine Acceleration

When Divine acceleration takes place, there is no human explanation for it—so, all the glory goes to Jesus.

We cannot make Divine acceleration happen. There is no formula or set of steps to follow.
Divine acceleration is a work of grace and mercy of God. It is God working sovereignly, according to His timetable.

But even though Divine acceleration is nothing to do with our performance, it is certainly facilitated through our relationship with God.
With this in mind, here are 7 ways you can prepare for Divine acceleration:

1. Be Assured God is at Work Right Now

During a season of Divine acceleration, God is at work in a visible way.
But that doesn’t mean He hasn’t been working beforehand—your Father has always been at work.

And you will discover He has been operating behind the scenes, putting many pieces together, positioning people.

God’s plans can be seen in the hidden threads, being woven through your life, long before the finished garment that He has for you comes into view.

I believe this is a prophetic word for many people today. “Your waiting is being rewarded!”

2. Sharpen Your Gifts Before Promotion

Even though the promise God gave you is for a future time, faith and anticipation causes you to prepare.

David had been anointed as future king by the Prophet Samuel—yet he stayed in the fields, serving his father and family.

While David was herding sheep, he was also using his time to worship God with his lyre.

  • He was playing anointed music, and writing prophetic songs
  • He was also developing his physical strength and skill of warfare, by protecting the flock from predators

While David was in working in the pastures, he was preparing for the palace.
We read that King Saul was looking for a musician, “Then one of the servants answered and said, “Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the Lord is with him.” (1 Sam 16:18, NKJV)

When the opportunity arose, David was ready.
Like David did, you can be an active dreamer. And you may not be aware of it, but the skills you are sharpening now are being used by God to prepare you for Divine acceleration.

3. Be Kind to People in Need

You never know whom God will use on your behalf. Be aware of everyone He brings around you! There will be times you can use your God-given gifts to minister to those who are weak, have needs, or are in crisis. “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.” (Prov 19:17)

You can trust God to position the right people around you at the right time. God brought the butler into Joseph’s prison so that he could tell Pharaoh about Joseph’s gift of dream interpretation (Gen 40).

Joseph ministered to that palace servant during his time of crisis, and the butler later remembered and spoke to Pharaoh.

Remember that with God, there are no little people and no little places.

That small act of kindness you do now, may have a ripple effect lasting generations.

And it could well be the thing that launches you into Divine acceleration.

4. Serve with Excellence

Joseph served a prison warden with grace and excellence (Gen 39).
He could have thought, “One day I will rule over you. I am more gifted and called than you”. But instead, he brought his gifts and talents and served that jailer with all his heart.

Even when we are called to greater things, we can serve God with all our hearts and honor those He calls us to serve during interim times.
Then, when our destiny is released, they will have cause to celebrate as they see their own—and our—faithfulness rewarded.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving” (Col 3:23-24)

God will give you the grace to honor your leaders, even when you’re called beyond them.

As you serve well now, you are sowing into your future season of Divine acceleration.

5. Keep Going When the Journey Seems Long

Divine acceleration works through failure and brokenness. It also works through perseverance: staying with the call of God during the long haul.

The prophet Deborah spent years faithfully serving God as a judge over Israel. Day after day, she took her position listening to problems, dispensing wisdom and giving leadership. And then one day, in a moment of Divine acceleration, God swept Deborah into the events that would release Israel from years of tyranny, and take down an enemy.

Today, receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit for longevity and perseverance.

God’s power is going to move swiftly on your behalf, and He will honor your faithfulness with His favor.

6. Receive Faith to Face Spiritual Warfare

Spiritual warfare can be an unexpected key to Divine acceleration! So if it seems as though the battle has been fierce lately, take heart.

When God is getting ready to do something quickly, He allows the enemy to attack or be exposed—because it is time for victory.

In the book of Esther, the Jews living in Persia came to a point of crisis when their enemy Haman set a date for their destruction.
But the Lord turned those plans around! Through Esther’s courage and Mordecai’s wisdom, their enemies suffered the very fate they had planned for God’s people.
And godly leadership was raised up in Persia, as the King promoted Mordecai the Jew to take Haman’s place.

It is time you to overcome that enemy that has stood against you!

If you are under threat, it is because you ARE a threat. Spiritual warfare is a sign that Divine acceleration is about to break loose!

Your enemy stands opposed to God’s purpose for your life—but the plans of your Father are unstoppable.

7. Trust in your Father’s Viewpoint

We often have our own ideas and desires of how (and when) we believe Divine acceleration will take place. But Heaven has a different view, and God has a different timetable than us.

And there may be times when we look back and see that those dreams and desires that didn’t come to pass in the way we thought they would, were held back by God in His mercy.
For He had a greater plan up ahead.

Your Father Who loves you, stands taller than you. And you can trust in His higher viewpoint.

Ultimately, it is not walking perfectly that counts—but trusting that your Father is holding your hand, and responding accordingly.

“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand”. (Psalm 37:23-24, NIV)

Divine acceleration can be seen in a recovery, in a quickly, and in a suddenly.

Be assured that when it is your time for Divine acceleration, nothing and no one will stand in God’s way.

I received a prophetic word from a prophetess by the name of Helen Velonis. She was Greek. She ministered at Spiritual Life Ministries in Brooklyn Park, MN. She gave me a word 29 years ago and layed hands on me and said, “God has a financial blessing. It will come in by the truck loads”. Go home and start praising God now!

I saw Sister Velonis fifteen years ago and I told her the word didn’t come to pass. She said sometimes a word takes 30 years to come to pass.

Her other prophetic words of my going to Mexico and Israel came to pass. Also, that when I go home to Wisconsin to live, that I would have to “war in the spirit” against masons, etc. She was right. I have and continue to do so for 29 years now. It’s been a battle.

Sister Helen, how should I pray for my prophetic word? I cry out to come daily about it because I have lived in a low income community now and my income is limited. Who or what are the truck loads for? I have always thought of myself as a “Joseph” even though I am a woman. I do want to help my family, church and friends in need. But truck loads? There must be something BIG God has planned for me to do, however I don’t know the vision of it.

Please, could you instruct me on how to go about this word? It would be wonderful if the harvest would come in now. I desperately could use God to open his vaults in heaven on my behalf. I drive a 20 year old Dodge Caravan and have college loan debts.

Thank you for guiding me on how I can receive this word from our Lord Jesus.

Hi Andrea, yes a couple of thoughts on this
      – one is that we’ve contended in this area prophetically for finances too and I’ve discovered it’s not enough to only contend using the prophetic word. We’ve also needed to be consistently sitting under Biblically based, enlarging teaching in this area too
      – prophecies that have not borne fruit over the longer term need to be weighed up again https://www.enlivenpublishing.com/blog/2011/08/23/dealing-with-prophetic-disappointment/

Thank you for your comments Sister Helen and so quickly. I continue to struggle truly believing this Prophetess since her words have been weighed by thousands and were accurate and truly straight from our Lord, himself. Her other three words of going to Israel, Mexico and my warring in the spirit was “right on”. I’ve experienced ALL coming to pass. However, the financial blessing one has NOT come to pass.

I’ve experienced financial woes after one after another and keep thinking, some day that word WILL come to pass. When, Lord, when? Will God use me to distribute the monies to family, friends who are in dire straights? Presently, I am driving a 2002 Dodge Caravan and I pray over my vehicle daily to continue running. In addition, I have limited funds. God has ALWAYS been faithful, however I keep thinking its HIS timing for others who will be involved to receive it as well.
I’ve read your article and each point ministered to me. And yes, I AM disappointed since “hope deferred makes the heart sick”. God knows, He sees. I still truly believe that word was valid. I have submitted it to God but I still have it in the back of my mind in receiving it. I only wish it was “confirmed” by three other prophetic words or prophets/esses, however it was not.

Thank you for reading and answering my prophetic word. If God gives you MORE on my situation, I greatly am appreciative. I wait and I wait on God just like my prayers for a godly mate, however, it has NOT been answered. I’m 63 years of age. Very discouraging.
Thank you again. I’ll await your reply. God bless you for your wonderful ministry. I am blessed by it! Andrea

Good Post Helen. I can see myself in a lot of the above points you mentioned. Seems like I have been waiting forever (but I am actually beginning to know God as a Father which is priceless). Thank you for this post, I am encouraged and at peace. 🙂

    Praise Jesus,
I bless king Jesus for using you to share the timely message of divine accelation and telling us that our waiting is being rewarded and emphasizing that is fully the work of God’s grace and mercy.it is amazing how Jesus allowed me to make a prayer relating to Psalms 37:23 and it is the same Scripture you posted and stressed that we should trust in Jesus who will respond accordingly.
May God bless and increase you.
    Thank you.

Dear Helen. Thank you so very much for your various blogs over the months. This one has been an inspiration not only to me but to share with my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus at such a time as this as we are going through spiritual warfare. May our Heavenly Father continue to bless and use your special gifts to always encourage others in their daily walk and work in Him. May His Angels cover, minister and protect you and your household and everyone of our Brethren’s. In the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ for Gods Glory and Honour from Everlasting to Everlasting. Amen.

I was just talking to the Lord about been passed over time and time again both on my secular job and in my church, but yet I still know that He has a plan for my life. I came upon your blog, 7 Ways You Can Prepare for Divine Acceleration, just when I needed it most. It encouraged me.

About 7 years ago, God said to me “prepare for preparatory.” I had no idea what that meant, but I believe He has a task/assignment for me in the future. Waiting is indeed hard, yet God has allowed me serve Him in so many new ways during these last 9 years. I often have to encourage myself to keep going. Your blog definitely gave me a LIFT tonight. Thank you!

    1. Antanina

This has certainly been my experience in the marketplace as well, April. I’m encouraged that during my waiting season—- I know I don’t have much farther to go—- God has not only been preparing me, but preparing the place…the environment…removing some people while putting others in place. Why? Because according to Proverbs 10:22, 22The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, without painful toil for it. I am not going to be miserable doing what he has called me to do in the place where he has called me! Plus, the reward according to Ephesians 3:20 is exceedingly, abundantly, above all I can ask or think. Please be encouraged. God has granted you this benefit, this blessing as well.
