Prophetic Word: God Says, ‘I Am Giving You New Strength!’

Today, hear the Lion of Judah, roaring over His people.
He is awakening courage.
He is stirring up expectation.
He is coming to you with a new word.

Hear your Father say, ‘Beloved, I am giving you new strength!’

“It is God who arms me with strength, And makes my way perfect.” (Ps 18:32, NKJV)

Your New Strength is Different

Your new strength is not like your old strength.

Don’t expect the familiarity of past strength.
Don’t wait for your ‘old strength’ to return.
Your new strength is different.
For you have entered a new era.

Your new strength is victorious

  • That enemy that pushed you, and—for a time—may have dented your heart.
  • The intimidation, shame, or illness that tried to take you out.
  • That evil that sought to rob your family.

Whatever your enemy has been, know this:
Your enemy is on the run, because God has armed you with new strength.

“For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.”
(Ps 18:39, NKJV)

Your new strength is found in reliance

Maybe you are in a position where past supports—people or structures—have come and gone.

Now, you are more conscious than ever of your reliance upon God.
You are counting on Him.

Your newfound strength is a position: you are leaning upon God.

‘Who is this coming up from the wilderness leaning on her beloved?’ (SOS 8:5a, NIV)

Your new strength looks forward

Don’t look for the past to return. Look for what lies ahead to come into view.

Hear the sound of a new song.
It is Heaven singing over you.
You may be emerging out of a time of mourning.
Know that you are not lesser for that season—you are stronger for it.

‘You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy’ (Ps 30:11 NIV)

‘Go in the Strength You Have’

Confronting the man in his place of hiding, the angel of the Lord told Gideon, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?” (Judges 6:14)

At this, Gideon answered the Lord by reminding Him of his position and family history.

“Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.” (Judges 6:15)

Listen!

When God is prophesying your destiny, don’t rehearse your history.

Your history has no weight or bearing on the fulfilment of God’s word in your life.

  • What matters is that God is sending you, He will be with you, and He will deliver you.

‘The Lord answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive.”’ (Judges 6:16)

Perhaps you can relate to Gideon today. You don’t feel adequate for the task ahead of you. But be encouraged:

Your weakness does not disqualify you.
God’s Word qualifies you.
And He says, ‘Go in the strength you have’.

Experience Did Not Prepare Her

It was an earlier generation. Deborah was a prophet, a judge and leader of Israel (Judges 4).

She held court under ‘the palm of Deborah’.

Day after day, Deborah sat, listened to complaints, gave wise judgments and delivered the word of the Lord.

  • Her location never changed
  • Her life was predictable

But then one day, God gave Deborah a word of command to give to Barak. It was time to take up arms and defeat Israel’s oppressor.

Barak said to her, “If you go with me, I will go; but if you don’t go with me, I won’t go.” (Judges 4:8)

And so, Deborah was tipped out of her courtroom and onto a battlefield.

Experience did not ready Deborah for this.
Deborah’s personal history did not prepare her for this.

But the word of the Lord gave her faith for what lay ahead.

“The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion.” (Prov 28:1, NKJV)

Perhaps, you face a battle today.
That struggle is just a pathway—known and allowed by God—that leads to your triumph.
And your victory is appointed and declared by God ahead of time.

This is Your Tipping Point

Deborah and Gideon faced similar circumstances:

  • Both received a word from God that it was time for Israel to confront their oppressors
  • Both were called upon to leave their familiar surroundings, and head to the battle lines

Yet these two were different.
Deborah was a woman of faith.
Gideon had only known fear.
Deborah was familiar with God’s Word.
Gideon was new to God’s commands.

You may relate mostly to Deborah or to Gideon, or (most likely) to both.
Take heart from these snapshots of their stories today.
For the same God who called Deborah, and Gideon, is calling you.

Perhaps, as He did with Gideon and Deborah, God is tipping you out.

In one sense, everything has prepared you for this.
But in another sense, nothing has prepared you for this.

You are stepping into your God-zone. This is where Jesus gets the glory.

‘Go in the strength you have.’
This is your new strength.
A strength reliant wholly upon God.

      It’s your time, Jules!
I remember the day I was asked to lead the prayer department in our church. I was sitting in the back room behind a desk. I didn’t feel adequate or ready, but it was God’s time for me. He has new strength for you.

Thank you for this! It’s so good. I feel like I’ve been tipped out and I am learning that God likes us in a place where we can depend on Him always. I was asked to help lead a sort of outreach for my church to students on my university campus. Waaayyy our of my comfort zone. I was set up more or less haha. I was fine with planning it and didn’t think I’d have to speak but it’s turned out to be better than I imagined. I let Him know that He should take my offering to Him (me planning the outreach and being involved) in all its littleness. I’ve gone from shaky voice at first and now have more confidence and a feeling of God as my father patting me on the back encouraging me to speak and share things I’ve learned in private with Him. Thank you Helen! x

This was really an on-time word for me (all of your words come to me at the perfect time). I have been struggling with strength concerning my walk with God and I’ve told myself many times how I wish I could be as devoted as I used to be when I was younger in the faith. Life has been such an obstacle for me and I’ve struggled to trust God concerning my future and the calling on my life. Because, I’ve felt so disqualified for any worthy calling, I often get afraid of living and dying without making an impact in the kingdom of God which is my greatest desire.

Sometimes we always feel very comfortable in circumstances we find ourselves with little knowledge of the fact that ‘God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can think of’. I am really enlightened about this post, God is calling me but I am rehearsing my history and when I recall my current lifestyle, I begin to doubt my calling. There was a time I wept in the early hours of the morning when I was reflecting on this ministerial calling. I was like ‘why am I struggling to manifest this calling’. If people have been able to do it, I am also capable. I pray that the grace of God will usher me to this calling.
Thank you Mom for this inspiring post. I am bless and encouraged, taking consolation from the fact that, I am not the first to rehearse my past against the abilities of God. God bless you

This WORD is very much for me in LIGHT of what the Lord has revealed and promised me that awaits me in a major transition and shift in the Marketplace.

The Lord has spoken many years ago, a WORD concerning His plan for me. The enemy has sought to hinder me from moving forward to seize and lay hold of this PROMISE. The enemy has tried to use circumstances as I understand them in the natural to cloud my view of the way that the Lord would accomplish this HUGE SHIFT for me!

BUT, I HAVE GOD’S WORD CONCERNING the MATTER! STAND THEREON, I MUST! Psalm 37:4

Will share with you offline what this MAJOR SHIFT entails! Thank you Helen for this GREAT WORD of ENCOURAGEMENT to MOVE FORWARD with ALL DELIBERATE INTENTION in the POWER of the HOLY GHOST!?

It’s a new season for me and unsure of what it looks like and when will it manifest. But your words from the Lord was confirmation, “Your new strength is found in reliance‘, relying on God himself knowing that HE is with me taking me forward in HIS journey for me in life, no more ‘man dependence’ but ‘God dependence’. lol, He is an on-time God because I needed this word for today, right now.
—-This part hit hard – In one sense, everything has prepared me for this.
But in another sense, nothing has prepared me for this. That’s how awesome God, Holy Spirit, Jesus, Clouds of Witness, Angels and Heaven itself is, what an Army we have backing us up. Helen. I saw a dream where there were many babies lying in a bed, and I went over and picked mine. I knew which one to pick among all those babies. I sensed that the baby is a new blessing / new beginning/ fruitfulness that is awaiting me. (We are currently going thru a hard time in ministry with dwindling numbers in a church plant that is failing.) But in the dream, I looked for a blanket/ fabric to hold the baby and I walked over to a box full of old blankets and saw that it was all old and nothing was good enough for this baby. I sensed that I was not prepared for the new blessing. How true to the word you shared today, “In one sense everything has prepared you for this, and in another sense nothing has prepared you for this.” Thank you! I take this as confirmation.
Also, I have been seeing dreams of being in a new home. Does this mean physical relocation to another house? Please pray with me for a new beginning in the land of fruitfulness.
