One Thing You Can Do Before Your Prophecy is Fulfilled

One year ago, I was faced with a challenging opportunity. I asked one of my prayer partners, ‘Could you pray over the next few days and see if you get any prophetic insights for me personally?’

She replied with some prophetic encouragement and added a photo, saying, ‘I felt to send you this photo that I took yesterday.’

It was of Maruia Falls; a waterfall in southern New Zealand.

Having lived in and travelled throughout New Zealand, I was surprised that I had never heard of this place before—and so I Googled it. At the top of the search results was a YouTube clip of a canoeist going vertically down the 10-metre-high waterfall.

I was amazed as I watched the canoeist aimed his canoe directly at the drop. The canoe went over the waterfall and disappeared into the foam. Moments later, he popped up in the river just past the base of the waterfall—unscathed and still afloat, perfectly positioned to continue his journey downriver.

When I saw that, I cried ‘YES! Father, that is exactly how I feel right now about what I am facing and what You are doing in my life!’

One hour later, I was working at my computer, when looked up and noticed my wall calendar was still set to the previous month, January. So I took it down and turned the page to February. It was a photo of a canoeist going vertically down a waterfall.

Surprisingly, the opportunity I was praying about at that time did not eventuate. But one year to the date of that calendar picture—on the first of this month—my husband and I found ourselves in an unforeseen situation.

Both of us were cut off from secure income at the same time. Mine was due to launching a brand new ministry—and my husband’s situation was due to a work contract unexpectedly being cut short.

I remembered the canoeist and the waterfall.

What to do before your prophecy is fulfilled and prayer answered

Have you ever been in a place where following the will of God has led you past a point of no return? You cannot turn back, and you find yourself in a situation where you need a miracle.

As you lead a life of faith, you will come to ‘the drop.’ It’s the place where there is a GAP between your own resources, your own ability, and what lies ahead.

It’s a waterfall moment.

Like the canoeist, you are committed, and cannot turn back.

Think of Moses and the Israelites, pursued by the Egyptians, with an impassable Red Sea in front of them. Imagine David, standing in front of Goliath, slingshot in hand. Paul and Silas, facing imprisonment in Philippi—the very place God had called them to. [1]

As it has often been said, faith could be spelled R-I-S-K.

You will never have this opportunity again

In the midst of the trial, before the prophecy is fulfilled and your prayers for deliverance are answered—on your way down the waterfall—you have a unique opportunity.

  • You can praise God before the miracle is manifested
  • You can worship in the midst of the mystery.

And you can proclaim—my God, you are my Deliverer! You are my Healer, my Provider. You are Faithful and True!

There is another day, another side

We knew there was a brief window of time before our own miracle came into view. It was an opportunity that we could have no other time—to praise God with no answer in sight!

And now, we are just beginning to see our miracle unfold.

From our waterfall to yours…

P.S. Never think that your prophetic insight is too simple to share, or hold back because you don’t fully understand what you are seeing or sensing. Offer it humbly, but willingly—it could be the very message God will use as He brings a miracle to pass.

    Hi Helen

I find it amazing that I am in free flight down my own waterfall as of yesterday and I read your message this morning and am greatly encouraged.

Yesterday I was reading the account of experienced fisherman caught in the midst of a furious squall on the sea who went and woke our Lord. Their question was ‘don’t you care about our circumstances?’. His question was ‘how is it that you have no faith?’

Jesus then spoke to the same circumstances and everything became calm.

What a wonderful Savior we serve who sees our plight but never leaves our side. As with the canoeist or the fishermen, the other side of a miracle is about to emerge.

Jesus only asked for faith the size of a mustard seed for us to come out on the right side of our miracle.

I take heart in that, despite the wind and the waves of my own trial of the last 7 months, yet will I praise and thank Him for I know He has been with me all the time, despite my moments of doubt or questioning.

God has lead me on this pathway and has given me keys to break each deadlock along the way.

I await with a wonderful sense of awe and excitement as the outcome will be known within the next few weeks.

Thank you for sharing your own story it has been a great blessing to me.

Hi Ross, that story about the boat and the storm has been meaningful to me lately, too! Thank you. I pray your outcome will be quickly revealed.

Yes, exactly where I am at right now. Falling down that waterfall – it’s scary and a stretch of faith and will I even survive it – but I am screaming in joy – it’s like a roller coaster ride….so much fun!

    Hi Helen,
I completely agree with you. You will not get this opportunity again- so praise God in the midst of trial. I remember The Holy Spirit reminding me to praise Him in the midst of chaos and confusion and said ” this is your chance to bring – “Sacrifice of praise” , you have always sung the chorus-‘ we bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord ‘ and had no idea what that looked like –
Well, praising God in the valley is ‘ sacrifice of Praise ‘ . We can only bring sacrifices of praise God , when we are going through challenges times. So let’s do it ?? He is always so worthy of our praise and worship. Ohhhh He is good God.

That is so good, Sheela, regarding sacrifice of praise. Thank you! Your words reminded me of this from Psalm 84
      Blessed are those who dwell in Your house;
They will still be praising You. Selah
5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in You,
Whose heart is set on pilgrimage.
6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca,
      They make it a spring;
The rain also covers it with pools.
      7 They go from strength to strength;
Each one appears before God in Zion.

Yes, Helen. We faced a ‘waterfall’ just before Christmas when my husband had an heart attack and was off work for 6+weeks – no pay. We were in the middle of moving to a beautiful new home God had given us, Christmas was 2 weeks away, our son getting married interstate before new year but I trusted Him who is faithful, knowing what He had done for us and so my husband is back at work (had a stent inserted in a blocked artery), wedding was fabulous and we haven’t ‘missed a beat’! His goodness is overwhelming!! He never lets us down! God bless you in your new ministry and keep you safe!

Hi Claire, what a wonderful testimony of God’s faithfulness in the trial! May you experience His full replenishment physically and in every way. And thank you 🙂

Greetings! As I was reading this wonderful message, I was led by the SPIRIT to stop, lift up my hands and give thanks and praise to the LORD our GOD. Then I read on to suggest the same things!
Hallelujah! GOD is Great! GOD Bless!

Indeed. I feel the same too as I await my career miracle. My waterfall. But thank God I have been praising like never before and I’m in that moment where I feel it but have not yet seen it. So inspired. Thank you.

Hi Beritha, praying with you for your career breakthrough right now!

    Hello Woman of God.
This insight of today with all the comments had to just bring me to a point of knowing, ‘ I AM NOT ALONE IN THE JOURNEY’.
We’ve been few months away from school due to some strike stuffs that breaked up in our country. Due to this striking period, school resumption has been suspended in my town as well. So, i had been home doing nothing but rather getting more envious about everything going on around. Sometimes i just get sad all the day long.

fortunately or what can i say, gracefully the Holy Spirit dropped a memory into my Spirit.
These was all about a dream i had earlier i.e; I had a dream of which i was in school and found myself playing at the school campus. Then later on i was left alone with no one around. And as i rush to get my bag from the class room, all around me appeared old and dusty. The doors were brocken such that i couldn’t even recognise my classroom. On deciding to cross to the opposite classroom,i met a group of people made up of a woman and some youths. The youths were eleven in number and were in a group of three, except the last group made of just two people. Then the lady standing by the side asked, ‘ What group are you? ‘ and on wanting to answer, i spoke in tongues then said ‘ The Holy Ghost’. Then she said, ‘join the group then’ and we were now twelve in number in group of four.
    Then i woked up.
Believe me, i had never understood the meaning of the dream till now. So i know the Lord was just trying to say; ‘WHEN THAT TIME COMES, REMEMBER THE GROUP YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW’.
Praise God and stay blessed Mum Helen and may God feel you with more mentoring insights.!

More grace in Jesus’ name, I want to say that I am one of the few people this article is actually sent to.
I’m facing a moment of taking serious decision about my calling.
Currently, I’m working as a pastor in a particular ministry, but I’m perceiving that the Spirit is whispering to my ears that He has another assignment for me other than what I’m doing, meaning that He’s asking me to laugh a ministry, but sincerely I’m at the crossroad.
Please, I’ll appreciate any further assistance.
God bless, from Ibadan in Nigeria.
