2012: A Year Of Unprecedented Access

18 Comments on 2012: A Year Of Unprecedented Access

Over recent weeks I have been praying about a prophetic theme for ministry in 2012, as well as a prophetic word of encouragement for Enliven Blog readers.

I have found myself being drawn continually to the themes of unlocking, keys, open doors, and access. [1]

A Prophetic Vision: It’s Time to Wake Up and Rise Up

‘For through [Jesus] we have access by one Spirit to the Father.’ (Eph 2:18)

‘I saw a doorway leading into a great hallway, and realised that I was looking at the entrance to the throne room of God.

There were people standing, hesitant, at the threshold. I knew they were holding back because they felt inadequate and unworthy.

The voice of God the Father came from beyond the doorway: ‘Beloved, I have made you worthy through the blood of My Son.’

Many who had been waiting uncertainly at the door stepped through, strengthened by God’s word of encouragement. Others, however, continued to hold back.

Then, I noticed many more people, asleep on the floor surrounding the threshold. They were covered with blankets and oblivious to their location.

Suddenly, I heard the voice of the Father speaking again; ‘It’s time to wake up and rise up!’

The breath of God accompanied the sound of His voice.

At the sound, those who slept were stirred.

Some heard the Father’s voice and awakening, realised where they were. The breath of God entered them, and strengthened, they rose and stepped through the doorway.

Others did not seem to hear clearly. They grumbled, turned over and went back to sleep.

Now, I saw those who were moving through the entranceway and into the great hallway. As they began to head towards the throne of God, they became suddenly self-conscious about the clothing they were wearing—‘civvies’—ordinary, everyday clothes.

To the side of the hallway were white robes and royal crowns—perfectly tailored, created and named for each person. They put these on and proceeded forward.

I found myself outside of the hallway again, observing as those who had entered the Father’s presence stepped out once more. They were clothed in royal garments, walking with purpose.

‘These are the history-makers,’ I heard the Spirit say.’

Comprehend your Royal Birth

This symbolic vision challenges me. I recognise my own tendency at times to hold back from God’s presence or to be lulled into a state of complacency and comfort.

But I believe that right now there is a word of awakening going out.

We are in a season when we have the opportunity to catch the revelation of who we are and Whose we are, and the Spirit Who is with us, as never before.

David McCracken has recently been preaching prophetically on the topic, ‘We Are Kings.’ [1] As he says:

‘A king is king because they are born a king, their circumstances don’t make them what they are, their birth makes them what they are. We become royalty when we are born again by the Spirit of God. You are royalty because of your new birth. Live royal!’

Adam and Eve were created for dominion, and the Father’s mandate has not changed. (Gen 1:26)

Our desire to see the power of God manifested, to see people saved, healed and set free is rising to the point that we can no longer ignore it.

Our destiny is calling; our spiritual DNA is stirring.

God’s Plan—Access to Him and Through Him

Access to God, and through God, is an important Biblical theme.

In the beginning, Adam and Eve had unlimited access to the Garden of Eden, God’s intimate Presence, and the tree of life.

But after they sinned, they were banished and that access was cut off:

‘After he drove them out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.’ Gen 3:24

On the cross, Jesus purchased back the relationship with God—and access to God the Father—that Adam and Eve lost.

‘..according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.’ (Eph 3:11-12)

We have only embraced Jesus’ gift of salvation to us, to the degree that we can access the Father’s Presence with confidence and boldness.

2012: His Word of Access for your life

For those who accept the Father’s invitation to draw near to Him and to speak intimately with Him, 2012 can be a year of unprecedented access. [3]

‘The people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.'(Dan 11:32, NKJV)

  • We will come out from God’s presence with keys—divine strategies and authority to access and take new ground for the Kingdom of God.
  • We will find ourselves in situations for which prior experience and knowledge have not prepared us—but for which God’s word has equipped us.
  • He will lead us in such a way that we will have no choice but to utterly rely upon Him and exercise the authority we have received from God.
  • I see young people catching the vision of who they are and Whose they are and the Kingdom authority they carry. Observing their boldness will stir up the desire in those of us who are older in the faith to enter in.
  • I sense God restoring access to some who have felt that they were sidelined or disqualified.
  • I believe this is a word for some leaders, and churches—your current vision, strategies and plans are too small—it is time to revisit what God has shown you in the past. Your current vision has led you to this place, but He wants to enlarge your vision. He is giving you keys—keys of favour, of strategy, of prayer—to go through doors that have previously been closed off.

“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.”  (Rev 3:8, NKJV)

Hi Helen, I really enjoy reading what you write and what you receive revelation on. My husband and I are seeking God for Himself this year. We want this to be year where we encounter God and live from the supernatural realm. Keep up the great writing. You are an inspiration to me. Thankyou. Blessings, Lorraine Goulton

Hi Lorraine, and thank you. I love your desire to ‘seek God for Himself’ in 2012.
Isn’t it true, that in His Presence, we are transformed to become like Him…more of who we are created to be.
‘And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.’ (2 Cor 3:18)
Reminds me of Acts 4…Then the world will take note that we have been with Jesus and we will live supernatural lives. I look forward to hearing more of your journey, Lorraine. May your prayers to encounter God and touch lives in 2012 be answered beyond your wildest dreams! 🙂

During prayer this morning…. I got the urge to just be silent.. So I was silent….. I saw an open door, just a door, and it was open… I then said what about an open door GOD… I began to pray and kept seeing the open door.. So I was silent again…. Then I heard: Enter in. I stepped to the edge of the door . The door was up in the sky . There was no ground, so I guess I was afraid…. I heard enter in again, and don’t be afraid. I was afraid but I disregarded safety in myself and stepped in. Soon as I stepped in I started falling but I was caught gracefully. God said : I will never let you fall. Trust me. You stepped in so never look back at that door because it’s closed to you.. You can only move ahead to the doors ahead that are already open for you. Then I thought about what I said and put on my Visin board yesterday: I’ll never just stand at the edge of the pool wishing to swim. I will swim everyday bc God has not given me the spirit of fear. I am open. I will swim….

Wow, that is such a God thing, Amy!
Thank you so much for sharing that, another encouragement and confirmation for us all that God is speaking to us all at this time!
      I love it, thanks 🙂

I have been thinking recently too, how interesting it is that many have predicted for years that 2012 is going to be the ‘end of the world’ (according to some ancient Mayan prophecy).

I believe God is overturning the plans and fear-mongering of the enemy and that this year is being redeemed to be a year of great beginnings and open doors for His people, a sign of His power, faithfulness and the truth of the Good News of Jesus!

Awesome honey!! I say….”Yes Lord, I will accept the invitation.”
2012, a year of great Blessing and Impact!!

    Hello Hellen,

I am grateful to God for the fresh manna the Holy Spirit served through you in this word concerning unprecedented access! I am contemplating running for local office, and in that arena access is what’s all about! But I have some questions. It seems God has been sending me unbelievers who believe in me and are being used by God to show me favor. And sometimes it seems like I get more support in what I do from them than from believers. This has been a struggle for me……….but I think I am shifting in my thinking regarding traditional teaching on being “yoked” together with unbelievers. I see how God worked through Joseph in government and Nehemiah with the partnership of those who didn’t know God but were part of His plan. Am I off? Can you shed light on this? I am so hungry for being around believers who can see the Lord working outside the boxes we have limited Him to working in. Can you recommend any ministry groups or forums in the South Florida area? Thank you so much for your ministry.

Hi there George, and thanks for leaving the note–your situation is very exciting! I have been meditating even this past week on Daniel, Nehemiah and Joseph, and believe that in this season God is raising up significant influencers amongst His people in the areas of business, government and education.

If that is the call on your life, then you will certainly be seeing favour, God-given access and open doors.

Re the teaching on being ‘yoked’ with unbelievers, I agree that there has been extreme teaching on this, any interpretation needs to be weighed up in the context of the whole scripture and in what we see of the Father’s heart and ways in Jesus. So I believe you are being moved of the Spirit in this area.

The main thing (and you see this in the lives of Daniel, Joseph and Nehemiah) is the God-graced ability to stand strong in faith and without compromise, in the arena to which God has called you, even under pressure.

It can be difficult when other Christians do not see the same perspective, especially when we are walking in the Father’s calling, so I pray you will know His grace and be able to keep your heart free of disappointments and judgments that can so easily happen. As you keep your heart soft towards other Christians, you will find God will call key believers to follow and assist in the journey with you.

I’m with David McCracken Ministries here in Melbourne Australia, so a little far removed to be familiar with what is happening in your area (for now, at least).

But I do know that there are many like-minded people and ministries out there who believe the same as we do in this regard. I pray that ACCESS for you in 2012 will also include Divine connections with Christians who will support you in your positioning in local office.

I am wondering, too, whether the lack of support you currently have in the church area is an indicator that you are to be a leader and pioneer in this area… something to pray about.

  7. George Fossett

Thank you so much for responding. I have often quietly wondered whether the feeling I have had of being alone in my understanding of what God is doing is simply because of God calling me to pioneer a work for Him as you said. Sometimes, we might be prone to complain about what isn’t right among God’s people and yet when He starts telling us to be the ones to “make it happen”, we get strangely quiet!

Also, thank you Helen for pointing out the need to keep my heart free from judgements and the like. I have been dissapointed often by what has happened in the church and yet I thank God for the reminder to stay free from bitterness so I can maintain a genuine love for God and His people. Otherwise, my ministry becomes ineffective and I poison other people with a bitter spirit.

    1. Helen Calder Post author

Thanks George, love your heart – you are so right, we can be a bit like turtles- stick our heads out to complain but hide in our shells when God is trying to speak to us about being an answer to the problems that stir us! When in fact (often) the reason we are stirred is because there is a calling on our lives in that very area, and we wonder why others don’t relate or have the same concerns.
The reason I mention about judgements etc is because of falling down in my own journey and being restored. I would love to send you a free copy of my e-book, ‘Prophetic People In A Changing Church’, which may be an encouragement to you; I talk about my journey re being discouraged and hurt in church life and journey forward. Let me know if you would like to receive it and if so whether you could manage the larger file size to your inbox.

      1. George Fossett

        Hello Helen,

Yes, I would love to receive the e-book “Prophetic People In A Changing Church”! I am sure it would help me tremendously in my own understanding of what God is doing in my life. By the way, I am now facilitating a small home Bible study……never thought I would actually step out and do this a few years ago!

Would you send e-book to [email protected]? Are you able to send in a pdf format? If not whatever you are able to do would be appreciated. I do have another matter to ask you about: I always believed I had a “Nehemiah annointing”. But recently I had an evening where I was feeling guilty for not spending the evening on my knees! Lol But thought came to me that God can communicate to me in my writing too……so I went to the table to write in my journal and when I went to sit down…….I heard very clearly inside …”You have a Joseph call on your life”. That came out of the blue.! Lol. I thought about Joseph and understand the role he played in government but don’t understand how the nature of his call relates fully to me. Are you able to recommend any materials for me to read or listen to that will help me understand on a deeper level the nature of his call in Egypt?

        1. Helen Calder Post author

Hi George, I have just sent you the e-book, so check your inbox (if you can’t locate it, check the spam filter as well). It is a PDF file, around 2MB.
Joseph had prophetic gifts as well as leadership and administrative/stewardship/management gifts. It is a remarkable story. I don’t know of any particular studies in relation to Joseph. However, you may like to look into Ed Silvoso’s books and DVD’s on the topics of Transformation and marketplace ministry. We have his book, ‘Anointed For Business’ and his Transformation DVD’s are very powerful. Some of his material is targeted towards business but some also speaks of education and government arenas. I notice he has a new book out (I haven’t read it) called Transformation: Change the Marketplace and Change the World. There may be some insiration there for you, 🙂
I look forward to hearing how things develop for you, George!

  8. Shirley Scroggins

Thank you so much Helen, you have confrimed my answer from God for me, I to was seeking God during the week after Christmas and before new year’s ever. And God gave me this If thou will draw closer to God, he will draw closer to thee, I was seeking God because I wanted an even closer relationship with HIM than I now have, also he told me to let no bitterness build in my heart, I now know for sure that God is requiring that of us, especially if we want to get close to HIM and be used by him, I even received an email from one on my email friends about serving God with bitterness inside, so I do thank you for this, and I just know God wants to use me in a great way this year, the shyness is going away and the Holy spirit is taking control, thanks again for this word.

    1. Helen Calder Post author

Wow, yes Shirley, God is doing a great work in your life and drawing you to Him by His Spirit. As you put aside the ‘garments’ of bitterness and receive His mercy and grace, you are going to be a shining light for Him!
Col 3:12-14 speaks a little of this exchange of garments:
‘Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.’
May 2012 also be a year of increasing boldness and faith for you, Shirley.

      1. Shirley Scroggins

thank you so much Helen, I will receive this message, for in our leader’s manna class we are studying on unity now, and about bitterness I know that you are right, because God is still dealing with me about not letting bitterness build up inside of me, and he is dealing with me about kingdom building, we are the ones to do the building, but if you are bitter and doesn’t have a strong relationship with God, how can he use you, or how can you hear him, thank you so much and may God continue to use you as HE sees fit.
