5 Ways the Holy Spirit Helps You (An Answer to Dryness)

Test, "The Holy Spirit is Here" on background of waterfall photoGod is delivering joy in dry places. He is awakening His people to the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Like streams of water in the desert, the Spirit is moving to bring refreshing and fruitfulness—in your family, ministry, and every arena you occupy.
And He speaks words of encouragement to those who have felt dry.
Hear him say, “I am here with you”.

“All I Have Made Available to You”

Sometimes, the Holy Spirit will speak when you least expect to hear Him! I was preparing to leave the house recently and as I walked towards our doorway, the Spirit spoke to me.
It was as though the words were dropping like rain—yet I was receiving them in my mind.

I heard Him say,
“Therefore with joy, you shall draw waters from the well of salvation…
And you will know that all I have made available to you is not out of reach, but it is freely available.
It is within reach.”

At the time, I was standing by our “in and out” shelf, which is where we put our keys when we are about to leave the house. And I have reflected since then, that the place where I was standing was also a part of His message. It was as though He was saying,
“Pay attention to the keys—they are within reach. See, I have given you access”.

5 Ways the Holy Spirit Helps You

1. The Spirit is Present with You

Jesus said of the Holy Spirit, “…you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” (John 14:17b, NKJV)

Someone needs to hear this: “You are not disconnected, you are well-connected, for the Holy Spirit is with you.”
And the Holy Spirit personally provides you with help.

In every season, the Holy Spirit is the anointing upon you and the power of God that flows through you.

There is never an instant that you are without aid, for the Holy Spirit is the great steward of the Kingdom. Like an administrator, He is familiar with all that the Father has made available, and all the riches that are yours in Christ.
And He continually has access to these treasures (John 16:14-15).

2. The Holy Spirit Shows You What is Available

Jesus wants you to know first-hand the salvation He has made available to you, and that there is no shortage in the Kingdom of God! And no matter what turmoil surrounds you, with Him, you are rich beyond measure.

He declares, “My provision, My bread, and My drink are plentiful and available to you.
For I have set a banquet table before you—yes, even in the presence of your enemies.” (See Isaiah 55:1-5, Psalm 23:5)

It’s as Paul wrote,
“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.” (1 Cor 2:12, NKJV)

3. The Holy Spirit Reveals God’s Favor to You

“Know the things that have been freely given…” (1 Cor 2:12)
God is not reluctant—instead, your Father is generous in nature, and He delights to give.
Jesus said, “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” (Luke 12:32, see also Rom 8:32)

The Greek word translated as “good pleasure” speaks of willingness or good thoughts (Strong’s G2106). It’s a reminder that the Father thinks favorably of you and His hand is outstretched to give.

4. The Holy Spirit Reminds You of God’s Word

The Holy Spirit knows the mind of God and in a moment, He can reveal that to you ( 1 Cor 2).
As Jesus said
“…when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.” (John 16, 13-15, NKJV)

The Spirit will also remind you of the promises and instructions of God throughout the Bible—which are a source of great authority!

5. The Holy Spirit Brings Joy in Every Situation

The psalmist wrote, “…in Your presence is fullness of joy.” (Psalm 16:11)
The Holy Spirit brings joy, because He is God, present with us, and because joy is in his nature (Gal 5:22).

When the Holy Spirit spoke to me, I recognized the words from Isaiah chapter 12.
“Therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. And in that day you will say: “Praise the LORD, call upon His name; Declare His deeds among the peoples, Make mention that His name is exalted. Sing to the LORD, For He has done excellent things; This is known in all the earth. Cry out and shout, O inhabitant of Zion, For great is the Holy One of Israel in your midst!” (Isaiah 12:3-6 NKJV)

  • “ …and in that day you shall say praise the Lord”

As the Holy Spirit reveals what we have access to, our natural response is to overflow with praise!

May This Be Your Encounter

On Sunday, my husband Malcolm and I were at our home church—and there, we encountered the love of the Father in a significant way.
It was as though He reached down and gave us a big “Daddy hug”.

I pray this will be your encounter also, right now, in Jesus’ Name.

How to Check an Insight is From the Holy Spirit:

How can you tell when an insight or communication is of the Holy Spirit? Here are some characteristics:

  • He carries the tone of the Father because He reveals the Father (Rom 8:15-16)
  • The fruit and nature of the Holy Spirit are love, joy, etc, and this is the fruit He will share with us, along with His anointing and power (Gal 5:22-23)
  • When He brings discipline or correction it is with kindness that removes shame. His conviction leads to repentance and joy, not condemnation (Rom 2:4)
  • The Holy Spirit leads you to move ahead with Him in God’s purposes (doesn’t paralyze)
  • He draws you closer to Jesus—lifting any veil or barrier—His direction is glory to glory! (2 Cor 3:18)
  • The Spirit’s communications pull you to the Bible, and insights are compatible with Scripture
  • Insights from the Holy Spirit will bear the scrutiny of wise people, and leaders in your life, who can confirm God is speaking to you

Thank you so much for bringing this message and just as you said Father has indeed visited by His Spirit through YOU!
I have been journalling ISAIAH 12 all day today! As soon as I saw the Words “wells of salvation” I was AIR-LIFTED (“nasa” of the God-kind!).
I could write here so much more but right now, FATHER GOD BLESS our sister Helen ABUNDANTLY MORE than she has EVER BEEN BEFORE

  2. Cynthia McCalla

thank you so so much for this Word from Abba. I too felt not just encouraged but also a great great warm hug from Abba.

To be able to walk while on earth with Father is so so good.

Thank you for your faithfulness and love for the brethren your sisters and brothers to share Father’s Words.

    1. thank you Cynthia, and yes what a joy to know our “good, good Father” (you’ve just reminded me of that worship song, just what I needed today!)

  3. What speaks powerfully to me is that “Jesus wants you to know first-hand the salvation He has made available to you, and that there is no shortage in the Kingdom of God!” This reminds me that no matter what I am facing, God knows my needs and He is faithful.

    1. amen to that Maureen, His arms are outstretched, and His hands are full! This is speaking to me, too. Sometimes, He has provision for us, and we just need to “lift up our eyes” to see Him. Gen 22:13, Abraham “lifted up his eyes” and saw the ram for the sacrifice. God had already provided, he had to lift up his eyes! (now that will be my meditation for the day)
I’m praying for you now, Maureen

  4. Why not make everything free? God will supply your needs so receive money for living from work in the world and make all your insights available to all.

  5. Wowsers! So encouraging this morning Helen, thank you again. Whilst praying in to a few situations for friends and loved ones this morning, the words and pictures the Lord was giving mirrored the heart of this word. Thank you for articulating it again. Love Jesus and appreciate you again breaking things down.
Love and blessings to you guys!

    1. thanks Sashi! I’ve loved meditating on this word over the past week, it’s a great refocus, in challenging times
